• hasn't seen or had contact with his mother or sister since he was young, when his father expelled them from the country for treason.
• an alcoholic, smoker, and known to sleep around; usually as coping mechanisms. his father keeps it mostly unpublicized or romanticizes it in the public eye, but is extremely critical about it.
blood magic
• able to manipulate his own blood into solid objects. generally he uses his abilities offensively and devensively. his go-to weapon is his sword.
• due to his ability, he can lose large amounts of blood without dying or feeling faint (after years of working up a tolerance). will still pass out if he overexerts himself.
• has to cut himself in order to bring blood outside of his body, but, due to his ability, lacerations heal without scarring (most of the time).

• an expert swordsman, training is one of his more healthy coping mechanisms (though he can still push it.)
• very knowledgable in all areas political including diplomacy (though asshole brainrot typically trumps his reason), but his father never gives him any chances to apply his knowledge and beliefs.

blaire's father. has a very poor and hostile relationship with him, especially since his mother and sister have been out of the picture. he dosent approve of his fathers views and actions as king. his father is abusive and controlling of blaire, mostly emotionally, but occasionally physically. he has blatanly defied his father for most of his life, doing many things just to spite him, but has grown more and more worn down by the man recently.
isobel dovokov
blaire's mother. dosent remember much about her, but they had a good relationship and she loved him very much. he was extremely confused and distraught when his father forced her away. he understands the nature of her expulsion more now than he did when he was a child, but his father has largely barred him from looking into it or contacting her.
luz dovokov
blaire's older sister. despite luz being much older than him they were very close as kids, especially towards the end of luz and their mother's residence at the palace.
octavia
blaire's closest childhood friend and the only one he trusts at the palace. they have been very close since they were kids due to their families and the professional relationship between them. she dosent approve of his vices, but nonetheless helps him out when he's in a slump. he dosent feel like he can be very emotionally vulnerable with her since theyve entered adulthood and their roles within their families.
yara ozerov
his father’s own personal guard dog; blaire is not fond of them. blaire had little hope for his father's intentions toward yara ever since he took authority over them, and blaire has no doubt yara’s relationship with his father is now as precarious and complicated as his own, but has no place or desire in getting involved. he tries to stay as uninvolved with them as his father’s agenda will allow, and is glad yara seems to have the same preference. though orpheus has no parental affections for yara, it is clear that he is proud of them in ways he has never been of blaire.
venus devoine
blaire's ex-boyfriend. one of many exes, but the most signifigant and serious relationship he'd ever been in. him and venus were close friends before becoming romantically involved in their early-mid 20s. venus helped blaire cope with many of his struggles and gave him a place to get away from his duties. they loosely lived together, as blaire's responsibilities kept him busy and away most of the time, and with their relationship being secret to the public and the king. their relationship became increasingly tense towards the end, and they ended up breaking up after a certain incident. they havent been in contact much since, and despite the lingering tension between them, blaire continues to have feelings for him.
sutton devoine
a close friend of blaire's. he has continued to stay in contact with sutton despite his complicated relationship with her brother, though they don't see each other as much since the breakup.
delphi aslanov
blaire's friend and drinking buddy. he met her through venus and though she previously had her doubts about him as a public figure, the two quickly became close, especially due to him dating venus. #1 personal enemy of blaire's father, apparently. they've mostly lost contact since he broke up with venus.
belladonna
blaire's friend and occasional sparring partner. met her through venus, and he grew to find her extremely admirable and someone he looks up to for her certainty and composition, occasionally going to her for advice while he was dating venus. for unknown reasons, blaire has stayed closely in touch with bella in particular following the breakup.
