Summary

Beelzebub is one of the six remaining progenitor demons, and has always been very closely affiliated with Lucifer's plans and the rebellion. They are known amongst humankind as "The Plague Bringer", and they are greatly feared by most who know of their existence. They attained this title by frequently storming the Terrestrial Realm, especially during mankind's early history, and "corrupting" large groups of people - thereby turning them into demons.

While they've slowed down on this lately, their desire to help their own kind flares brightly within their heart, and they would fight and die to protect their loved ones. They don't hesitate to admit how much their fellow progenitors mean to them, and this passion that Beelzebub holds in their heart can sometimes cause them trouble, as they often get carried away by their emotions. Even though they argue a lot, especially with Lucifer, they do so only out of love and the desire to keep them all safe.

Design Notes
  • beelzebub's left arm is covered in a kind of tough ichor, hardened and reaching across their chest, where the arm is connected to the body
  • their tail isn't part of their body; it's a metal attachment that hooks to the hem of their pants
  • their wings are not well-kempt, and the feathers are messy and fall out a lot
Background

During their days as a Cherub, it was Beelzebub's role to not only offer their advice as a tactician, but to attempt to speak to the gods after they had abandoned the angels. They, of course, were met with repeated failure, and the silence that now filled the space where there had once been the soothing hum of their creators was so overbearing that they started to feel frayed at the edges and were unable to fulfill their tasks. When Lucifer reached out to them and promised them solace, they took the chance and joined her cause, and their tactical prowess assisted the rebellion greatly.

The rebellion fell, but although they had now lost the only home they ever knew, Beelzebub was - for the first time in decades - happy. They had found a family in their comrades and had left the painful silence of the Gods behind. Once their form had adapted to the Abyssal Realm, Beelzebub was the first to suggest creating new demons in pursuit of a larger family of people that deserved their own freedoms. However, they disagreed with Lucifer's desire to create demons out of angel cores, as they wanted demons to be as far away from angelkind as possible. They quickly took it upon themself to use the magic of the Abyss to turn humans into demons, and are directly responsible for how large the demon population is today.

Trivia
  • Beelzebub is often busy, because they feel as though there is always something to be done; their workaholic tendencies have recently drawn the attention of Azrael, however, who pulls them aside and forces them to preen together, simply to give them a chance to slow down.
  • They have, over the years, found comfort in queer-platonic relationships with both other demons and humans alike, and often fixate on their qpp to make sure their needs are always being met. These are practically the only times that Beelzebub stops fretting over demonkind so seriously.
  • They're a worrier, and although they weren't raised to fight as an angel, they've taught themself a few things and will always leap to the rescue of their close ones.
  • Beelzebub gets along with Pytho the least, as they feel a strong disconnect between their own feelings and her detachment from the strifes of others. They do not dislike her, however, and would still fight for her.
