Crow is the main character in Wolves! It's his actions that fuel the main conflicts (though they were started long before he was born) and he who the story focuses on.
He is one of my favourite characters ever I love him, although I give him a pretty rough deal storywise.

Crow is as I said, the main character of Wolves. He is instrumental to what happens and the character you're supposed to root for.
Role: Protagonist
Allegiances: Tombstone Pack, The Sewer Wolves, Resistance Pack

Goal: To escape Ragen, amend his mistakes, destroy the pack system, find genuine peace/happiness and love (he never accomplishes this)
Relationship w/ Adolpha: Fairly detached, he hardly sees why Adolpha should care about him but does follow her values

Crow is a relatively short and skinny wolf, owing to his time spent starving as a pup.
He has a mane of hair which starts out at black and slowly becomes white as the story progresses.

During the final confrontation with Ragen he loses his back right leg.

Crow is a nervous wreck. He is terrified of everything and everyone, partly due to his isolation as a pup, partly due to his awful experiences with the world.
He is very cold and seems very unattached, though in reality he cares very deeply about every wolf he comes across, even his enemies death's haunt him.
Flaws: He is extremely anxious and has a very negative outlook on everything.
In his experience everything he does goes wrong and while this eventually doesn't prevent him doing what he needs to it does make him doubt and second guess his decisions constantly.
He struggles to stand up for himself initially, leading to him getting in some less than favourable situations.
As a youngster he is quite easily led and while very cynical about the world he remains far too trusting.
He hates killing and will avoid it if possible, even in situations where his life is on the line, which is problematic in-setting.
He has a habit of shutting others out and repressing his problems till they get too big for him.
He tends to use his romantic partners as a way to fix his self esteem and has a tendency to just assume they have no problems/life outside of him
Character voice: Isn't a great speaker, tends to use too many words in explanations and trail off randomly.
He phrases most statements as questions because he is very unsure of most things.
Often responds to questions with 'Oh. Well...'
Really hates repeating himself, despite being very non-confrontational he'll often point out if he's already said something.
Laughs and smiles only when he's nervous, doesn't do it much otherwise.
Prefers to listen rather than talk.
⇺ Power ⇻
Crow has the power of poisonous saliva. His saliva is constantly toxic and dark green in colour, when he is focusing, very scared or very angry he produces excess saliva and it drools out of his mouth. When in a high focus his eyes change to be blankly dark green, banishing all his spirits (save for Frostbite) to his soul realm, at the expense of worsening his sight.
Crow did not realise his power was out of the ordinary until he was more than a year old, this is very late in universe. This means his power is incredibly strong.
Crow can kill any wolf with a single bite where his saliva comes into contact with the bloodstream. His level of focus depends on how long it takes to act - it can be anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, but the end result is always the same, his saliva coming into contact with the bloodstream is guaranteed death.
Despite his power he hates killing and is haunted by every wolf he kills - which kind of balances out the rather overpowered nature of it.

Frostbite┃Mentor/Friend/Enemy/Ghost
When Crow joined the Tombstone pack Frostbite was the one to take Crow under his wing. Crow viewed Frostbite as a mentor and friend, however Frostbite was mostly using Crow to make himself look better in the complicated world of wolf politics and manipulating Crow into carrying out his dirty work. Crow was not necessarily happy with how Frostbite treated him but he didn't really know any better - until he met Ragen by chance one night. Frostbite gets his name from his power - which is when he bites a wolf's limb he leaves part of his spirit within in and can then control the limb, his power his weak however so he can only freeze the limb in place. He bites every wolf he manipulates on their front right paw, when Ragen saw the wound on Crow's paw he recognised Crow as another of Frostbite's victims. He manipulated Crow into turning against Frostbite, this confrontation eventually leads to Frostbite dying from Crow's bite.
Crow feels incredibly guilty and holds onto Frostbite after he dies, which causes his spirit to become trapped within Crow's nightmare-filled soul realm.
At first Frostbite haunts Crow mercilessly, belittling and attacking him each night as he sleeps for a long while - until one day Crow snaps. He confronts Frostbite's ghost during the day and surprisingly is able to physically fight him. Frostbite is an incredibly skilled fighter, but Crow has the advantage of emotion and wins decisively.
After this event Frostbite gives Crow some begrudging respect and eventually starts to help him with his leadership of the Resistance Pack and with taking down Ragen.

Crow meets Mouse when he and the Outcasts flee to the sewers. Mouse was very excited to have met him, their mother told her several times of the pup she regretted abandoning and Mouse was extremely happy to learn that he was still alive and now they could finally reunite with each other. Crow was less sure, he finds Mouse very overwhelming sometimes, with her hyper optimism and exuberant displays of physical affection. However as he finds his dreams become increasingly terrifying places to be he takes great comfort in Mouse's presence and her cheerfulness and soon becomes fiercely protective of her and anything that might skew her positive look on life to the mostly negative one he has. Mouse is a constant positive force in Crow's life, she is not without sadness, they share several tender moments about their late mother and eventually the brother they learn has joined the Opposition. Yet through everything that is thrown at them Mouse remains aggressively cheerful, always finding something to smile about and sharing it with Crow, to varying degrees of success. Even on his darkest days she is there for him... until she isn't. Mouse ends up in his soul realm but thanks to her good influence Crow can make sure it isn't as terrifying for her as it might be.

⇺ Backstory ⇻
When fighting with his siblings as a pup Crow accidentally killed one of his brothers. Even though his power was weak and still forming as a pup it was enough to harm a very young pup from repeated bites. His mother decided Crow was too dangerous to live with such a power but didn't have the heart to kill him as her pack demanded, so she left him alone in the coming snow while she took the rest of the pups away.
Crow however did not die, a kind crow took pity on him and fed him scraps of scavenged meat, until Crow was old enough to hunt for himself and the crow. Despite not being taught to hunt Crow managed to find enough food - once he caught up to prey all he needed was one bite to kill it.
Crow and his crow survived for a while until Crow was a year old and the crow was hit by a car - a sight so rare in the post-apocalypse world that the crow didn't know to avoid it.
Crow wandered sadly away from his small neck of the woods until he ended up in the territory of the Tombstone Pack.
The majority of males in this pack are infertile due to their close proximity to radioactive material so when Crow ended up int heir territory they interrogated him, asking if he was a male and most importantly - if he could have pups.
Crow was born intersex (he identifies as male) and completely sterile. Due to Adolpha's instincts Crow is aware he is infertile yet he lies and informs the pack that yes, he can have pups. The pack let him join as an omega and he is thrust directly into pack life and all the complex relationships, conventions, rules and everything else it entails.

Basically, Crow shows up, makes everything go wrong and then fixes it and dies.

TW - Death
His soul realm is very full, he even has wolves haunting him that he didn't even kill.
I don't have the energy to write them all in detail rn
The main spirit haunting him is Frostbite.
Crow's soul realm is very dark, it always seems to be night and drizzling. It contains several horrible deaths his soul encountered. Of the main ones there is drowning, being hit by a train and being impaled on a sharp rock.
These deaths are interpreted in various ways -
Drowning: Sometimes this appears as Crow just drowning alone in an endless sea, sometimes his spirits are holding him down, sometimes he is drowning his spirits. Sometimes there is something or someone attached to him, weighing him down.
The Train: The train is a reoccurring idea throughout the story. It is usually Crow walking or standing only for a few seconds before the train starts rushing towards him. He sees it in enough time to escape it but he is frozen in fear, illuminated by it's headlights until the train eventually hits him and he is mangled under it's wheels. When he focuses his spirits are banished to the train tracks, which they cannot leave. They have to keep constantly running forward in order to escape it, if they misstep they fall and are crushed under the wheels, only to be brought back in front of the train to run again.

Crow was born intersex, this is significant for a couple reasons -
It means wolves cannot tell whether his sex is male or female by his scent (which wolves in this setting can do, they distinguish sex from gender and it is important to certain pack issues) which means plot points like Speckle killing Rayka instead of Crow can happen, because Crow can't be identified as easily from his scent
It also means he is infertile - which he is instinctually aware of - and thus leads to him and Luna being incompatible and means he lied to the Tombstone pack in order to join, which gives Ragen fuel to be allowed to take wolves to pursue him

His hairstyle is a sort of Mohawk/mane down his neck.
His hair can be fully black, black with some white sections or fully white - if I don’t specify just choose :)
