Starburst and Eclipse were best friends long before they were a couple. Eclipse saw past the rebellious teen who dyed her fur bright blue, and found the kind, smart, energetic fluffball she really was. Starbust was able to give Eclipse more confidence and help him to be less shy and awkward, bringing out the cocky, joke-cracking side of him. However, something happened between them and Starburst ran off into the woods. She ceased the fur-dying, choosing instead to keep only a few markings tattooed on her brown fur. She devoted her time to studying magic and now uses it to record information and history, and to heal the occasional passing-by traveler. Both cats long to see each other again, but Eclipse moved away from the woods after he 'lost' his best friend. Convinced it was his fault she left, he was too devastated to try and find her and could hardly bear to see the trees she disappeared behind. Now they are both very lonely, although more so Eclipse than Starburst. After she left he fell back to being shy and insecure.
