Tamamizu

Tamamizu - MTF young adult (she/her) with blue cat-like eyes, a short, somewhat chubby physique, and shoulder-length honey blonde hair that she’s always changing the style of.  Tamamizu, being a guardian from a village in the far east of Jouru, has a set of animals ears and a long fluffy tail, which she frequently adorns with bells and bows, but this appearance is often mocked by the people of Athenia, where she currently resides, and so she has grown to be a bit self-conscious of her appearance.

Tamamizu is a guardian; an ancient and rare race of people who reside in the far eastern nations like Shuzo, with each village typically only having one or two, if any.  As the name implies, guardians act as the protectors of their respective villages, and will defend their homes with tooth and nail, even at the cost of their own lives.  Tamamizu, even among her own kind, takes this position extremely seriously, and so when the Dreamweaver’s imaginings began to cause damage to her village, she vowed to travel to Plato and eliminate the Dreamweaver herself… which has proven to be more difficult than she first anticipated, because they weren’t even there when she arrived!  Tamamizu is incredibly headstrong and stubborn, but also surprisingly athletic in spite of her dainty appearance.  However, she is very egotistical, and will refuse to admit she is ever wrong about anything.  Many people (outside of her village, who adore her) find her abrasive personality insufferable, and will rarely stick around long enough to find out just how earnest and loyal she is towards her allies.

Name Origin: Named after the kitsune (fox spirit) in the Japanese folktale “The Tale of Tamamizu”, a story about a fox that takes on the form of a young girl in order to live as a maid for the woman it fell in love with.

Motifs: As a guardian, Tamamizu has a very strong connection to not just the people of her village, but every plant and creature that resides within it.  However, Tamamizu feels a particularly strong connection to the constant-autumn-leaf-trees that dot the landscape of her hometown… as well as the fires that burned them all down during the attack from the dreamweaver’s nightmares.  She also has a general love for bells, and will use them to decorate her hair, her clothes, and anything else she deems worthy of them.
