Personality

Asherah is egoistic, cruel, and proud. She likes to boss people around, enjoys the feeling of having people do her bidding. She's stately and queenly, and doesn't hesitate to tell people what she thinks. It's rarely a compliment. She can be very irresponsible, and won't easily admit her own mistakes. 

She thinks before she speaks, and knows very well how to hit a nerve with her words. She doesn't speak particularly loudly, but her distinct voice is hard to miss. She has not accepted the loss of her powers, and is still angry about it. She'll reply snarkily to anyone who brings it up to her, and prefers to just not think about it.

Occasionally, she can be loyal, but only if she might gain something from it for herself.

Traits

She uses her mouth to speak, and often bares her teeth while doing so.

Because  the body she lives in is not her own, she can be clumsy. She is, after  all, a person in an animal's body. The statue is also very heavy, which  doesn't particularly help.

While her body doesn't need nutrition or air (statues usually don't) she can eat and taste food.

She  brings fortune when near or touched (good, or bad, depending on her  mood). Has the ability to enchant objects to have the same effect  temporarily. This is pretty strong, yet nowhere near the power she used  to have.

Like all lionesses, she's very strong and fast,  amplified by her size. Since her body is supernaturally animated, her  weight doesn't bother her. Her claws are sharp (like her horn, but  that's mainly decoration) and she's not afraid to use them.

Her  fur is tough, coarse, short and grey like the limestone her body  used  to be made of. Instead of stray hair, she leaves behind grit and dust.

Strongly  dislikes anything that require opposable thumbs to use, (except if it's  expensive) and doorknobs in particular. She likes gold, jewelry,  expensive things, good luck charms (preferably expensive, shiny ones),  precious stones, and warm sunlight.

Used to be named Moira, but  she changed her name when she became the lioness because she's ashamed  of what she's become, and doesn't want people to recognise her by her  name
While she has a human form, she can never return to it at will.  She's not a shapeshifter, and will probably never be human again. In her  time as a feline, she's developed a stereotypically cat-like feature;  she despises water. Though unlike cats, she hates it because she's too  heavy to swim and sinks like a brick.

After leaving the physical world, Asherah (then named Moira) returned to the spirit-palace called Ait Set. She resided there, quietly, while many years passed on the world below.

She was not intending for her time there to end yet when a great misfortune tore her away, leaving a piece of her behind. This stripped her of much of her power, and her physical body as well. She wandered the lands as a ghost-like being until she found a (to her standards) appropriate object as temporary physical form. Its tail was broken, but it suited her well enough. 

The keys around her neck symbolise the power she has lost. She has the keys, but the locks and whatever's behind those locks will be out of her reach forever. The horn she added later; some say she stole it off a gold unicorn statue because she liked it (and it matched her eyes) but she confirms nor denies this.

Lan Turner

"Your pride broke any shield you could have hoped to have," Lan said, standing a few feet away from the defeated opponent, dark tendrils  flowing around him like angry shadows. "A once proud creature now  lounging by your shrine. There are locks waiting to be opened by those  keys, yet you chose not to find them. It is time to start moving again, even if it means I drag you out myself."

Peppermint

"Well, aren't you horribly sweet. You seem  such a pushover, while you could have so much more in life. Is other people's pleasure really worth it?" The lioness, a giant in comparison to the tiny fairy-like creature, graciously lays down to put herself at  eye-height. There's a  cruel look in her golden eyes. "Though I suppose there's little you can  do, as tiny as you are. You're like those little dolls people bring to me to bless with good luck." She smiles. "Except I haven't brought you misfortune. Yet."

Deon

"Even if I were blind and deaf, I would be able to tell that you are very, very prideful. Narcissistic. Blind to the feelings of others, unaffected by kindness. Seems pretty difficult to maintain any positive relationships when you act the way you do." 

He slowly starts to smile. "With your size and stature, you are indeed beautiful. You know, with enough dissonance and discontent from  those you insist are beneath you, your life may come to an end as well. I wonder if your funeral would be as grandiose as you are."

Chenille

The lioness' arrogance had gotten her into  a fight she could not win - again. The creature towered over her, cloaking her in its great shadow. The wounded deity roared angrily, but it was not impressed. It tried to  go for the kill, but luckily, she managed to jump out of the way. She'd gotten herself into a corner, and  would not be so fortunate the second time. It raised its weapon, and Asherah yelled some obscenities at it. Once again, it didn't really care. It grinned, and went for the hit. (Written by me)

Chenille's  eyes drifted gently across the sky when she heard something out of the  ordinary. Ears fluttering lightly, Chenille wandered over to the source of the sound. However, what she saw made her quicken her pace. There was something covered with a darkness that seemed almost impossible. It was unnatural. When she came closer,  Chenille knew that  something was being covered. The dark being seemed to  have been consumed by its certainty, unable to perceive anything but  its victory.  She had to snap out of her thoughts. It was almost too late. She took out her beaststone and transformed into her animalistic state as fast as she could, and swung her claws. One breath, two.

The dark creature emitted an odd hissing noise and fell against the ground,  disintegrating. The one who had been threatened was a lioness, her pelt matted from the confrontation. She seemed to hold herself a bit higher then Chenille would expect after facing such an opponent. She opened her mouth to speak, her voice still a bit rough from the transformation.

"Are  you proud of this? That you need a saviour? Or are you blind to your defeat; unwilling to accept a reality that doesn't sing of your power?" Chenille averted her gaze. She didn't know what had possessed her to say that. She turned to apologize, but all she got was dust stirred by the  lioness's smooth steps.

Asherah the Lioness has been defeated!

You find:

• Golden horn (x1): A sharp golden horn that can be sold  for a high price. Alternatively, you could keep it to stab at someone as  a (very) rudimentary weapon.
• Mystic lion pelt (x1): An unearthly lion's pelt used for crafting. It seems to glow in the right light and is curiously gritty when shaken out.
• Enchanted necklace (x1): What does this do? Looks like you'll have to shell out for an appraisal if you want to find out!
• Broken key (x1): Who knows what this key was for. It won't be unlocking anything now that you helped break it, way to go!
