Martha
[ Wife ]
He has had a big crush on her ever since first meeting her at ten years old, and even when they parted ways after high school she was often on his mind. He had always felt that the two of them were just meant to be together (even when there were times she really didn't seem to think so) and considers her to be the perfect (and only!) woman for him. And sometimes when he gets to thinking about how happy he is to have her as his wife & mother of his children he can't help but get all teary-eyed. *corny XD* He also appreciates her practical/responsible nature, because deep down he knows he needs to be with someone who'll keep his crazy ass in line.
Karen
[ Daughter ]
His oldest daughter! When Martha told him she was pregnant with her he was SO excited (it didn't even matter that it was totally unplanned!) Growing up they were always very close and she loved hanging out with him, but once she reached her preteen years she seemed to start growing apart from him, and suddenly found her goofy dad to be more "embarrassing" than funny. It breaks his heart so much that she "doesn't like her dad anymore ", even though Martha tries to tell him it's just a teenage phase and she'll grow out of it. He also has a very hard time just giving her some space, which only makes things worse.
Samantha
[ Daughter ]
His second child, and the one who definitely takes after him the most, personality-wise! She is very clingy with him (which he doesn't mind at all!) and he spoils her quite a bit. He's always taking her out to fun places, buying her new toys, candy, ice cream, and etc, and pretty much always caves in any time she asks for anything. The hardest thing he ever had to do was leave her when he was sent off to Vietnam, and he keeps all the drawings she made for him hanging up in his tent.
Russel
[ Brother ]
Frank couldn't have asked for a better big brother than Russ! He thought he was the coolest guy in the world and was always by his side as a kid (and hiding behind him whenever he got into trouble.) His guidance and advice is what helped him become the good boy he is today, and hearing about what a hero he was when he came back from fighting in WWII made him want to join the Army too! Frank thought Russ was invincible, and he could hardly believe it when he died. Nothing "bad" like this had ever happened to him in his life, and he had never felt so devastated. But these days he is always sure to tell people all about him whenever he gets the chance, wanting to keep his memory alive.
Max
[ Best Friend ]
Good ol' Maxie! While he does find it a little "boring" that he never likes to stray far from their hometown to get out and see the world he can really appreciate how dedicated he is to their childhood home and that way of life. He has so many fond memories and stories to tell from all their years growing up together, and looks forward to making many more with him well into their old age. All in all he sees Max as a real down home, salt of the earth kind of guy, is proud to call him his "best buddy!"
Reginald
[ (Ex) Boyfriend ]
Although they only had a fairly short time together Frank considers himself so lucky to have had the chance to be with a great (and handsome! 💕) guy like Reggie. And while he may not have understood (or really been interested in) all his fancy Shakespeare talk, he could've listened to that pretty voice of his for hours. And when he got the terrible news that his big brother had died he was incredibly grateful to have Reggie there to comfort him. He loved him dearly (and still does!) and hopes they'll get the chance to meet again one day.
Gabriel
[ Fellow Soldier ]
It became obvious to him right away that despite his cold, gruff exterior Gabriel is a sensitive and softhearted young man who's having a rough time dealing with the horrors of war (to say the least.) And though his attempts to distract him from it a little and make him laugh or smile seem to be futile (no matter how hard he tries), he's glad Gabriel at least sees him as a shoulder to lean on, and is more than happy to be there for him when he needs it.
Red
[ Fellow Soldier ]
A fun guy to hang out with, and his best buddy that he's met so far in 'Nam. In a way Red reminds him a lot of himself when he was younger and just starting out as a pilot...so excited to fly and eager to learn more. This kid's gonna go far! 👍
Leslie
[ Fellow Soldier ]
He's a little closed off and doesn't talk much until he's had a couple drinks, then he's always good for a few laughs!
