Hillview is a made up town that is located somewhere vaguely between Scarborough and Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. It’s a beachside suburb that breaks into a small, lush, green forestry area to the far left of the town. There are many parks in this area, and a large golf course. The upper centre-left of the town consists of a large shopping mall and the upper centre-right houses the showgrounds. Between these two areas and right through the main centre of the town are a lot of roadside shops, restaurants, and busy streets. There is a highway that runs from the top left side of town through to the top right, bending slightly through the centre to accommodate buildings. This highway is on a higher level and there are streets below for the town’s residents to use to get from one place to another. There are a lot of small apartment complexes scattered throughout this area, and a lot of large, expensive housing estates in the ‘richer’ city streets.

The public highschool – Hillview State High School – is positioned closer to the beach on the right side as it’s only a short walking distance between the two. This is the school that most of my characters have gone to. The private highschools (a female only school and a mixed, respectively) are located closer to the more rich and populated areas of the town (closer to the centre) and typically require a car or bus to reach. The public pool is located a few streets away from the female private school and is usually where swimming tournaments between the schools are held. This is the only time the three high schools mingle with each other – during interschool competitions. There are many primary schools throughout the town, with one being on almost every corner. There is a university to the far centre right – almost out of the town limits – that specialises in Sciences and The Arts.

The beachside is gifted with cheap, roadside tourist shops. Other stores available are ones that specialise in things such as icecream, seafood, summer fashion, and the like. There are a lot of small apartment complexes here too, as well as a lot of smaller single houses that line the short roads. The beach has some fantastic waves, and a lot of my OCs spend time there surfing, swimming, sunbathing, ect.
