Takumi is unfalteringly loyal to Shiori and has dedicated his existence to her. To be her loyal dog means to receive her love, praise, and attention, without needing to do anything in return to earn it. He wants to please her, make her happy, anything to repay her for all she's done for him.
Takumi is Shiori's loyal dog, and she's more than happy to treat him as such - love, affection, attention, she offers all of those in exchange for unflinching loyalty. Though her behavior is far beyond how a normal friend should act, her love is genuine. After all, for someone as lonely as Shiori, maybe it wasn't just that she saved Takumi - it could be argued that Takumi saved her as well, even if just a little.
While Takumi initially felt threatened by Kinuyo, overtime that fear has bled out. Nowadays, he feels content to co-exist with her, and has no problem with taking orders from her. In fact, it'd be nice if she ordered it around more - it'd welcome that with open arms.
Kinuyo generally appears neutral towards Takumi. She thought of it as a nuisance at first, an obstacle, but nowadays she regards it just as it wishes to be treated - as nothing more than a loyal dog. She doesn't show it often, but sometimes it peeks through the cracks of her emotionless exterior - those slivers of fondness, a sign that she really might care more than either of them think.
Daichi thought of Isamu as just another person to string along at first. He thought that if he told him what he wanted to hear he'd be appeased and leave, just like everyone else. But somehow, no matter what Daichi said, Isamu always saw through it. Perhaps someone who appreciates the ugliness of humanity is the only one who can claw his way to the heart of one who lies for love.
Daichi is a curious case to Isamu. His act is perfect, unfaltering, everything calculated down to the most minute expression. To Isamu, who revels in all things grotesque and visceral, to be faced with such perfection is fascinating. He often wonders what it would be like to tear down those perfect walls of his, and reveal the ugly self that hides within.
In her endless pursuit of love, Chinatsu has chewed up and spat out many potential partners. Kouki's lack of self esteem and subservient nature has made him the perfect target - without putting in much effort, she receives his adoration, and can easily take over his mind and life from there. After all, someone like him can hardly be considered equal to her.
To Kouki, Chinatsu is like a dream come true. Someone as beautiful and kind as her took an interest in the boring him - how could he not feel grateful for something like that? It's because of his love for her that he was content to lay back in her arms and let her take over, believing her to know best. After a while, even the thought of merely disagreeing with her was enough to make him feel sick to his stomach.
Oblivious to the inner turmoil in her heart, Kouki continues to extend a hand to the girl who has been drowning for years. No matter how many times it's sidestepped and rejected, he feels a genuine sense of fondness for her. She's his friend, after all.
Kouki was the same as everyone else to Kayo - just another faceless sacrifice, to be fed to Chinatsu and discarded once she inevitably decided he wasn't enough. However, Kouki continued to reach out to Kayo and show her kindness, continued to establish himself in her mind as more than just a statistic. Knowing what's to come, Kayo can't help but despair.
From the very moment Saki reached her hand out to Kayo, Kayo had adored her with all her heart. For someone like Kayo, who faced frequent bouts of loneliness, Saki was like a ray of light shining in the dark, a star gleaming in the night. It's just a shame that all stars die out someday.
Saki had quite a fair few friends at her school, but none she clicked with quite as fast as Kayo. The time they knew each other may have been short in the grand scheme of life, but Saki loved her all the same.
Love, attention, power - all of those things, Chinatsu craved and selfishly stole for herself, not caring for all those she trampled over in the process. To this day she continues to do nothing but devour, fed endlessly by the girl more terrified of her than anyone else. To Chinatsu, Kayo is a useful tool, but doesn't amount to much beyond that.
Kayo once lived a simpler life, one where she didn't exactly yearn for much. Survival was never nothing more than a subconscious instinct in her mind until the day she saw her friend disappear the waves, never to return. Since that day, her only priority has been feeding the beast, so that she may one day safely return to shore. To Kayo, Chinatsu is a monster whom she hates more than anyone else, but one she must rely on nonetheless.
For someone like Chinatsu, a catty person who wants nothing more than to selfishly hoard the love and attention of those around her, Saki was merely an obstacle in the way of that goal. She holds no regrets.
Though Saki loved Chinatsu with all of her heart, it seemed that her opinion was one that never mattered to her greedy, never satisfied sister.
"Hehe! Nao is my best friend in the whoooole wide world! ...Well, apart from Aki and Daichi, of course~! I mean, she's really nice! She calls me pretty a lot! I just don't get why people find her weird..."
"We think she's a super cute girl! She's our very best friend and not even death can separate us! If anyone tries to hurt her, we'll destroy them!"
There was once a time where Chiharu could safely say that she knew her own twin, but those days are nothing more than a distant memory now. She watched from a distance as her brother became a stranger overtime, to the point where she could no longer safely say that he was someone she knew. Still, she loves him all the same, even if she doesn't know who he is.
Daichi may have been close to his sister as a child, but those days were they could safely say they knew each other like the back of their own hand are long over. That doesn't change his feelings, however - even if they're essentially acquaintances now, and their relationship has become nothing more than a business one, Daichi will always love his sister.
