"Back from conference" holiday pics

I'm in the habit of not posting the specifics of my travel until I'm back, but anyway. I just went to Wellington NZ for a conference, to present a paper + my PhD project. Hung out cool people, and also birds. It was a good time, and the travel itself was on the university's dime.
The sea is also. So blue. Like look at this. Travel brochure colours.
I also wrote 4 chapters of Revolving Door while on holiday which...how did that happen. It's been on 2 year hiatus. I think it's because the story itself is so inspired by travel.

Holy shit, the water really is blue. I hope the conference and trip went super well, it sounds like it was a lot of fun!

IKR....it was so clear (there's apparently a lot of efforts going towards ocean conservation), and I don't get to see the sea that often where I am so it's always a treat. The trip was great :>

I DID...it was really fun, even though I was exhausted by the end lol. A good mix of casual activities and research related ones, presenting research and having to answer questions is always a little nerve wracking but it's always worth it for the people asking to know more and getting interested in the project

I did! beautiful place, lots of cool people, and it was, as always, exciting + nerve wracking presenting my research. and also there were pigeons. so many. they were all puffed up for the weather
