As all of Ivras gathered to celebrate the annual Feast of Flowering, the Order's Archmage Hagia stepped up to give her usual speech at the lighting of the sacrificial bonfire. This year, however, the gathered crowds were horrified to witness her corrupt herself fully as she wished for the survival of her unquestioned authority.

Five years after the last devastating battle in Faline turned seven Order mages into heroes, Ivras's greatest city is the site of yet another monster attack. All mages are called to help slay the beast before Faline is destroyed!

Monster Description: The former Archmage Hagia has been transformed into a worm-like monster hundreds of feet long. Lithe, powerful, and an adorable mauve color, this monster has a ring of jagged crystal teeth and a belt of floating crystals orbiting it. The specifics of this design are left to the imagination of every creator!

Monster Abilities: Besides the destruction its huge body is capable of, the Hagia Worm is surrounded by floating magical crystals. These crystals reflect and refract burning light that can cause burns or even fires; when the crystals are struck, they explode violently into dangerous shards and brilliant fire.

Monster Behavior and Location: The Hagia Worm, finally stopped by waves of volleys from mage protectors, collapses inside the city gates. As it shudders through final throes, its body falls, flattening a line of buildings at the edge of Faline.

📯👹🏹 Join the Hunt!
  • Hunt Prompts: Every week the monster still lives, a new prompt will roll out for both Mages and Non-mage characters, describing the monster's behaviors, location, and the destruction it has wrought.  Collabs are encouraged for Hunt Prompts!
  • Great Hunt forum thread: Join your fellow Ivratians in an open thread, taking place where the monster first appeared. Posts in this thread do not count as attacks against the monster. All mages and non-mages can participate, and earn double gold for all posts.
  • Art/writing/RP/Collab Submissions:  You don't have to respond to a specific prompt to kick some monster tail!!  Any submission showing mages whippin' ass (or otherwise responding to the Great Hunt) can count as an attack; just tag this profile as a "character" on your finished work!
⚔🛡🏆 How does this work?

The monster mentioned above is rampaging through Ivras! It is up to the Mages of Anathema to stop it.

Every piece of art, writing or roleplay made for this event and featuring Mage characters counts as an "attack" on the monster; the Gold total for every piece is subtracted from the monster's HP.  The event runs until the monster's HP is lowered to 0. This hunt is a little different, since only staff knows how much HP Hagia has, so YOUR MAGE is needed to kill this superpowered monster!

🔸 Non-Mage Prompt: Week 1

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

Your Non-mage character is swept up in the crowd's sudden flight, jostled about as they attempt to understand their surroundings. As the monster rears its head back and bellows, your character is pushed down by fleeing bodies. While on the ground, they see another body in danger of being trampled: a young Bovine shrieks in terror just out of your character's reach. What do they do?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.
Upload your response like any other art or literature submission and claim DOUBLE gold. You may tag the event gallery in your piece if you so choose, but please clearly indicate that it is a Non-mage work! Non-mage submissions do not affect the monster's HP.

🔸 Non-Mage Prompt: Week 2

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

Once back on their feet, your character tries to make sense of the situation around them. As the monster seems to come to its senses, people flee for cover. Your character sees a group of citizens huddled in the doorway of a stone building; they beckon for your character to join them, but the path there looks treacherous, and as the Worm draws closer, it may not be as safe as those people seem to think. What does your character do?

🔸 Non-Mage Prompt: Week 3

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

The mages seem to have the Hagia Worm contained to the square, and your character has made it to the perimeter where the action has settled down. They get a minute to catch their breath -- before they see the worm barreling toward the main road, bulldozing carts and buildings under its massive body as it seeks to escape Faline. They see an alehouse full of people taking refuge; the worm is heading straight for them, but to warn them would put your character in the path of danger. What do they do?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.

🔸 Non-Mage Prompt: Week 4

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

Amidst the violence and chaos, your character notices that all sorts of things have been abandoned by festival-goers fleeing for their lives: favors and food from the carts, kegs of ale, and even some rather valuable items intended for sacrifice at the effigy have been left completely unattended. The Worm has all but vacated the square, and the loot is accessible should you step around a few small fires. What will your character do?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.

🔸 Non-Mage Hunt Prompt: Week 6 (FINAL PROMPT!)

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

As the worm's lumbering body begins to fail it, your character is knocked off their feet by a wave of dust and debris. When everything settles, it reveals the monster's lifeless form and a line of houses flattened by its final throes. In the wreckage, your character recognizes the ruins of what was once the home of someone they know; what do they do?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.

🔸 Mage Hunt Prompt: Week 1

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

Your Mage watches the chaos exploding from the city square, and through the smoke and dust can see the huge worm writhing on the ground. It seems dazed for the moment - what does your Mage do? Do they help people escape and fortify against the coming battle, flee for safety themself, or take the opportunity to damage the monster while it's down?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.
Upload your response like any other art or literature submission and claim your gold. However, don't forget to tag the event gallery in your piece in order for your "attack" to be counted!

🔸 Mage Hunt Prompt: Week 2

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

As mages attack the monster and attempt to control the situation, the Hagia Worm begins lashing out at those opposing it. Still unsure how to move its giant form, it slams its body into the buildings around it, bellowing in confusion and fury. As walls crumble under its terrible weight, more and more of the square's potential exits are closing, and citizens are becoming trapped. What does your mage do?

🔸 Mage Hunt Prompt: Week 3

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

Although the efforts of brave mages across the city have kept the Hagia Worm contained, the battle has also allowed it the time to gain command of its body. Sensing that it's being trapped, it rears its massive serpentine form and charges full speed toward the main road out of Faline, crushing any citizens or infrastructure in its path. Will your mage try and prevent its escape?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.

🔸 Mage Hunt Prompt: Week 4

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

The Hagia Worm's trajectory toward the city gates has slowed -- now injured from the volley of mage attacks coming at it from every angle, the worm is starting to shamble, its movements becoming more staggered and erratic. It even appears that large clumps of hair and worm flesh are beginning to slough from the abomination's form, covering city's already-burning infrastructure with slimy purple goo. How will your mage avoid the mess and stop it from crashing through the gates?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.

🔸 Mage Hunt Prompt: Week 6 (FINAL PROMPT!)

(You do not have to respond to this prompt to be able to respond to others. You do not have to complete all prompts to be included.)

The Hagia Worm collapses in the street under fire from Faline's mages. Its body shudders as it tries in vain to rise to its former height, rearing midair above the rooftops for only a moment before crashing down on a row of buildings near the city wall. Though just barely, the worm has been prevented from leaving Faline. However, the timbers of the homes under its spasming bulk groan and begin to give way; those who took shelter inside begin to panic as the houses sag and collapse under the dying monster. What does your mage do?

Hunt Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot). Hunt Prompt responses may be collaborations between multiple members.
