Accept the embrace of the unknown.

Perhaps you’re taking a hike in the wilderness, or your casual backyard nature reserve. The gentle breeze slides past your face as you take in the sights and souls of the forest. It’s just rained, and the smell of cold petrichor hangs heavy in the air. You close your eyes, and take a deep breath, taking in the sound of the forest- the birds singing their morning song, the crackling of the leaves overhead and underfoot.

Oh, suddenly you're falling.

Down and down and down. It seems endless, and your sight is nothing but a blur of dirt and rubble. Deep in your gut, you have the feeling that the ground is quickly approaching. And so, you close your eyes, and brace for the impact.

But you’re not dead?

What are Bysmalbats?

Bysmalinthes, more commonly known as Bysmalbats, are a group of ancient, primordial beings created by the Great「All-Mother」, a Being born from the Rifts- cracks in time and space, which lead into the Unknown and Indecipherable.

With their ominous wings and squirming tentacles, it is rumoured that their occasional sightings on the surface were the original inspiration for Lovecraft’s Cthulhu. Of course, the stories of old are only able to comprehend barely a fraction of the「All-Mother」true eminence.

Bysmalbats are a closed species made by sinn. Inspired heavily by Lovecraftian themes, this CS explores the "what if"s that exist both below the surface, and above in the starry sky. If you enjoy tentacles, wings, and a fat lore doc, this might just be the CS for you!
