Story Prompts

For this event, there are three Story Prompts available!  You may do as many of the prompts as you like with any of your characters! Each character can only complete each prompt  once.

At the end of the event, Mages will receive a stat point bonus for every Story Prompt they complete.

  • You may complete all prompts with the same character.
  • You may submit collabs and RP as prompt responses, but every participating character's choice must be clearly indicated for mods.
  • Prompt responses earn double gold!

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).
Upload your response like any other art or literature submission, tag this character profile, and claim your gold; collect double your total count for prompt responses.

Story Prompt 1

Even if your character hasn't yet seen evidence of the curse sweeping across Ivras, rumors are stirring, and naturally, citizens are squabbling about the right way for the realm to handle it.

What does your character think?

  1. Your character believes that now is the time for mages of every background to step forward and use their abilities for good. Surely there are healers (or exorcists, if the curse requires them) among the masses? Your character has received +1 Power.
  2. Your character believes that this, at least, can be handled by those in power: the monarchy, the Order, and even the Archon should be responsible for caring for their people. Your character has received +1 Discipline.
  3. This is clearly black magic at work. Your character believes the Witchfinders should hunt down the mage responsible and do what needs done. Your character has received +1 Corruption.
  4. Your character believes it's a dog-eat-dog world out there. Everyone must fend for themself, not rely on others to keep them clean of curses. Your character has received -1 Cost. If your character already has 0 Cost, you may choose to take +1 Corruption instead.

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).

Story Prompt 2

Your character's dwelling is about to be surrounded by mobs of the mindless Afflicted, but there's still time to escape.

What does your character do?

  1. Make haste for the countryside. Sure, the flight may be dangerous, but not as dangerous as being pinned down here. Your character has received -1 Cost. If your character already has 0 Cost, you may choose to take +1 Corruption instead.
  2. Hunker down. This is your character's home, and nothing is going to make them leave it. Your character has received +1 Discipline.
  3. Look for opportunity. With so many fleeing the city, there are sure to be many treasures left unguarded... Your character has received +1 Corruption.
  4. Prepare for battle. If any of these Afflicted show their faces, your character will cut them down.  Your character has received +1 Power.

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).

Story Prompt 3

Your character finds a shambling Afflicted person who appears to have trapped themselves accidentally. Your character is able to get close, even contain the Afflicted being without being harmed.

What does your character do with this opportunity?

  1. Put them out of their misery. There's no way the Archon has a cure like she says she does; better to die with dignity than as a slobbering beast. Your character has received +1 Power.
  2. Keep them trapped and observe them. Maybe if your character could just learn something about this curse... Your character has received +1 Discipline.
  3. Set them free. Perhaps your character hates to see someone imprisoned, Afflicted or not, or perhaps they want to see what one more Afflicted being could do... Your character has received -1 Cost. If your character already has 0 Cost, you may choose to take +1 Corruption instead.
  4. Start experimenting. Nothing like this curse has ever been seen, and simply looking is not enough. Your character has some ideas about how to get to the bottom of this.  Your character has received +1 Corruption.
