🔸💐🔸 Mage Story Prompt 1:

Your character is almost at the end of the road to Faline, the rising smoke from Feast Day preparations visible to them over the city skyline. Behind them, an elder camel mage has slumped in the middle of the road, standing still and weeping into the dirt.

🔸💐🔸 Mage Story Prompt 2A: Toward the Official

The Order official seems to be collecting monetary tithes in a gilded box that she pulls in a cart yoked to her back. The box is open, and it seems that many have already added coins to the coffer. She petitions your character somewhat aggressively for a donation, as if there’s already a monster here and the fate of Ivras depends on your measly ducat.

What do they do?

  1. Whether they’re a true supporter of the Order or just eager to get rid of her, your character donates as the official asks. (click for final prompt)
  2. Your character refuses to donate. The Order doesn’t need your money that badly, and what have they ever done for you? (click for final prompt)

Prompt responses must be worth at least 1 gold (i.e. at least 100 words or at least an uncolored headshot).

🔸💐🔸 Mage Story Prompt 3A: Donation to the Order

As your character reaches in to drop a coin in the box, the official raises a bundle of dried herbs to their forehead, making a loud show of her gratitude for the rest of the procession. Fellow mages who notice that she is offering some sort of blessing in the name of the Order line up behind you, digging deeper into their pockets. You feel a bit lighter on your feet as you make your way closer to Faline.

🔸💐🔸 Mage Story Prompt 3A: Refuse to Donate

As other mages behind your character see them stand up to the pushy official, a ripple of dissent courses through the line. The procession begins to move faster around her, and she is left behind in a cloud of dust and abuses. Several people come up to your character with words of thanks and solidarity.

🔸💐🔸 Mage Story Prompt 2B: Toward the Elder

As your character doubles back and approaches the elder, they can see that the elder is mourning a broken bundle of sticks and a flattened wad of chaff that was once an equine doll. Clutching pieces of twine, the elder laments that this was a shrine to Grace as their ancestors had made, and that a group of drunks had carelessly knocked it from their hands and trampled it on their way into the city.

What do they do?

  1. Your character stops for a moment to help the elder rebuild their shrine as best they can. It seems important to them, and there’s no rush. (click for final prompt)
  2. Angered by the carelessness of their fellow travelers (or frustrated by the waste of time), your character goes forth and seeks out the perpetrators. (click for final prompt)

🔸💐🔸 Mage Story Prompt 3B: Rebuild the Shrine

Instructed by the elder, your character pulls the tiny shrine back together, squishing the horse into shape and bundling the sticks against him with twine. The elder thanks you, and you walk with them the rest of the way, gleaning this experienced mage’s stories and wisdom.

🔸💐🔸 Mage Story Prompt 3B: Punish the Perpetrators

Your character catches up with a gaggle of crass yokels who stink of cheap ale. They use their magic to make the gang sorry, causing something of a stir on the road. If your character returns to inform the elder that they’ve been avenged, they’re nowhere to be found.
