As in, things you often see in designs a lot that you don't like yourself. Like trends.

I wondered this as I'm not a fan of colored teeth and bones yet I love colorful blood and whatnot. Yet people are making colored teeth/bones a popular thing now? (Seeing, say, blue-colored teeth, for example, looks...kinda wrong to me?)

The only rule is that you aren't allowed to attack people and such because they don't like something you like and vice versa. Be kind and civil.
Also, species don't count. This is about things like a kind of marking and the like.

Genuflect is very right.. as someone who studies world wars ive always had a big soft spot for polandball/countryballs, but when people anthropomorphize them so russia can be shipped with america and so forth its kinda gross

also emo dogs i love some of their designs but its a bit overdone

animal ears,, Cat ears are fine, though I wouldn't add it to design if I had a choice but like, those horse ears (?? those big floppy ones) seem to be super popular? and I just, don't get the appeal at all... Also characters with a human face, but then neck down/waist down there's fur or some pattern or smt. SO they just have human skin face (and torso), and yeah. These are just personal ticks, no particular reason lol

also just designs that I just, can't tell age at all, especially due to body proportions. They can be 14 or 25, who knows. I mean, it kinda comes with the popularity in anime-ish art styles and how those rolls, so I get it, but still, not a huge fan if I had a choice.

LeechiPeachy bandaids on fur? omg i have never seen that but that sounds like it would be so insanely painful to remove.. ouch

Pastel...

Pastel everywhere. I have nothing against some nice light designs with a good contrast. I mean more the pastel designs without any contrast. Were you can barely even identify the  different tones and colors anymore. Sometimes I even think two different characters are literally the same. Or in other words, almost every pastel character looks the same. No variation, nothing that pops. These are simply boring to my eyes and I personally wouldn't like to own such a character. They often times also don't reflect any interesting personality by sides from being cute and innocent 24/7.

I hate characters based on real life murderers.. it makes me uncomfortable

Also, I don’t really like Ferals with really long necks or like, skinny legs

Ryllvix

Honestly? I'm not a fan of ferals in general. Maybe it's because I am poor at drawing them -- but I never saw the appeal in having a character be feral instead of anthro. The designs look nice, yeah, but every time I see one all I can think of is warrior cats instead of it's own original world. I also don't like wings on one's head; I don't see any practicality in that design. To each their own though!

CilantroLeaves

Personally hate a lot of things tbh. The most being human faces with animal features, Cyclopes, huge thighs, and the nipple thing.

Kenmai

this has been a really interesting thread to read through to say the least....

and i think something im not a fan of (that ive noticed is becoming more prevalent?) is the trend of people taking pre-existing canon characters.... and turning them into anthros/ferals and calling it their own.............

thats not right?
i understand taking inspiration from things, but if i can still recognize the origin of where the character is from youre just kind of stealing? it doesnt matter that you kin them?

JUICEB0X

oh boy I agree so badly on these pastel &black canine sonas who wear collars and beanies. I swear I come across one every single day. I mean they aren´t ugly, they´re just SO overused and mainly emo dogs. or at least always drawn in this type of style. idk but they also make me unreasonable uncommfortable lol

Orca

For designs with dragon/batike wings, I'm not a fan of having the wing arms be colored differently from the main body. Even with characters like Spyro, it bothers me. It makes the wings feel more like an accessory than an anatomical trait. If they ARE an fake accessory, that's another thing.
