Word(s) you have problems pronouncing/spelling?

Thought this would be a interesting thread to make, see what others have troubles with.
I know I can't be the only one who has problems with pronouncing/spelling certain things, or the only one who thinks it'd be interesting to learn what other people have problems with.

For me, on the pronouncing end of things, I cannot pronounce wolf. It always comes out as "woof".
As far as spelling, though, I struggle to spell definitely without use of a spellchecker. More often than not, I just type out "def".

Keep in mind it's nothing to be ashamed about if you have problems pronouncing/spelling something. You can overcome it, I believe in you!

Aarix

definitely, necessary, pierce, silhouette, ascetic, lieu, councilor, consciousness, embarrassing, ecstatic

my spelling is awful in general there's definitely heaps more

my pronunciation of some things is also probably way off because I'll see/use some words way more in writing than I ever hear them irl. so I know what it means & then will go to use it without considering the fact I've never payed attention to how you're meant to say it, and I will end up looking like a big idiot. Like. How was I supposed to know "ennui" and "hyperbole" were pronounced Like That zhzhzhz I don't keep getting the word wrong after I've made this bluder though (i hope)

...........with the exception of the word persimmon? Like, I know how all the letters sound together, it's just the syllable stress that gets me. I go to say PER-sim-mon but apparently it's pronounced per-SIM-mon. I've said it wrong so many times it's hard for me to fix it at this point :^(

god also i am like. unable. to pronounce rolled R's which is mostly fine bc you don't find them too much in english (which is my only language so far) but it's still embarrassing oRL it's also weird bc I don't have this much much trouble wrapping my heard around some other non-english sounds which sound like they should be harder. Uvular trill? okay! Alveolar trill? nope the closest i'll get is a tap

Kogami

I....often spell opportunity as "oppoturnity". In phone, I often get autocorrect to help but if in PC?? There's always that spelling check that marks it as red but ??? I can't see what's wrong ??? *googles it* Oh.

I'm also bad with spelling words with repetitive letters or many syllables like "anniversary" (I often typo as "anniverssary" or "anniversarry"..) or uh, another word I forgot which I'll add later when I remember...

Pronounciations? English isn't my first language and there's 50% chance I'll pronounce a word incorrectly at first lol I used to say "reply" as "re-plee", "recital" as "rayh-cee-tal" and I'm that one person who said "meme" as "may-may" for the longest time gfhfgfgg

(These are also heavily biased by how most Asian pronounciation stays consistent....where English ones, is very varied so I get confused a lot hfgfgfg why are there 10 ways to pronounce the syllable "a" depending on the word? Idk man.)

Sadismancer

Necessarily. I used to have such issues pronouncing it xD "nece celerey" i'd say haha. I speak it slow these days so it ain't as bad. Can spell it fine though.

Pftl

I really want to say my classic keysmash out loud but I just can't pronounce it: FHDGSGDDHDGSFSS

Also the word occasion and anything with double "c" or "s" always makes me do a think before I type it out. Sometimes I need to Google.

Pronunciation wise... I can't think of anything at the moment, if I pronounce it wrongly it's because I didn't know how to pronounce the word originally so I'm not aware of the mistake _(┐「ε:)_

Hanae

I have trouble pronouncing iron and comfortable @_@. They just end up sounding weird whenever I say it.

entipikal

Pronouncing - Cinnamon and synonym (I get them mixed up) souvenir (I saw sounevir a lot!), thesaurus (I say thee-ah-saurus instead of th-saurus)... I'm kind of self-conscious about how I pronounce a lot of things because most people I'm around mock me if I say anything that isn't "Perfect British English :) and if you don't speak Perfect British English :) you're horrible and you're disgusting :)", says absolutely everyone around me.
Spelling - despite it being one of my favourite art words, silhouette. It's just. It makes no sense? There's a H? Okay.. Double L? No? Double T? Blegh...

moryonenn

Anything with unstressed syllables. I'm going to stress all the syllables!

ch1mer1cal

defibrillator and fief

for the first one the syllables often get jumbled when they come out of my mouth (defibberlaytur), and i can never remember the vowel for the second (maybe if i looked up the origin of the word that would help?)

(english is my first and currently only language, but im going to take spanish next year :))

seasluq

I'd say my spelling is okay, I don't make a lot of mistakes when I'm writing. And sometimes I'm just too tired and spell things incorrectly 🤷 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And pronunciation? Absolutely horrible. I also don't speak as clearly as I'd like, and I have trouble doing so. I have a hard time verbally saying "worm" and "warm." And "theater" is the absolute worst. I avoid saying it at all costs :x

Words form in my head and when I say them, I can understand and hear what I'm saying, but some people can't understand me because I also mutter a lot "orz

aska-ray

separate like

oh i got it that time but...usually... it's so embarrassing for me i'm usually a p good speller but like that fucking word
