What songs do you HATE?

I know we all have our favorites, but what songs can you not stand hearing? What are you sick of? Or what have you never liked?

TheEliBlog

Anything so explicit to the point where censoring doesn’t do shit. I get that the singers are adults and songs have always had NSFW undertones sometimes but not the point of not being able to hear the song without being reminded of OP talking about doing the dirty in some capacity. Nothing against adults being adults and singing about those kinds of topics I just wish it wasn’t constantly blasting on the main channels 24/7, a balance would be great. Swearing doesn’t bother me but overuse of common swear words CAN ruin the song as well.

Here’s a list of songs I despise, regardless of reason. Also plz don’t take this seriously it’s just my opinion everyone has different music tastes.

-Anything KidzBopafied

-Sorry Eminem Stans but I can’t stand his “I’m CoMiNg“ song that trended on TikTok in late 2020-early 2021. His other songs are fine but that one grinds my gears.

-Driver’s License but only when it is being overplayed

-Ok some of Harry’s music is good but Watermelon Sugar is not good. It’s annoying and was so overplayed plus I never liked it so there’s that.

-Shape of You. “I’m in lov- DON‘T EVEN START

-Most French Canadian music

-Strip That Down

-Ok I love Mitski but Nobody… it’s dull and repeating galore.

-Most Justin Bieber music

-P!ATD, I loved some of their older songs because some of them are so good and it’s so sad that one of the singers is shitty. So hearing anything new from them is iffy cuz Brandon sings them and his latest hits are just not it. Drama aside they are bland and sound off-key.

-WAP isn’t bad it’s just too much

-Girls want Girls by Drake. Absolutely disgusting and no it isn’t a song like “I think she likes girls” by metro station which is an absolute banger because the guy is so cool and chill about his crush being lesbian and knows she isn’t into him and sings about it without sounding fetishy or weird! It’s cute! It does talk about her liking girls and her kissing them but in a way that doesn’t sound like he’s thirsting over her! Drake’s song is just him saying haha you like girls so do I but in a fetishized way. Also the song is so bad my dad just changed it 15 seconds in and I forgot it was a thing until now. That’s how bad it is. Straight men and straight women singing about wlw and mlm don‘t be weird about it, mission impossible it seems.

-That TikTok audio “I like girls who like girls” for the same reasons!

-Shut Up and Dance

-R you dumb R you dumb song that won’t stop repeating and sucked ass in 2017 and despite that was overplayed as hell.

That’s it for now but I’ll be back with a part two one day 😎

Also I also hate Slumber Party lol. Idk what OP singer’s sexuality is but I feel it’s been used by a lot of straight girls who treat being lesbian like some sort of aesthetic when one guy doesn’t work out for them and brag about pecking their girl friends on the lips but then tell actual lesbian, pan, bi, etc women shit like “you better not have a crush on me“ like? That’s the vibe I get from the song and the audience from what I’ve seen on TikTok, although I’m not saying all women who lipsync to it on TT are just straight girls trying to treat loving women like some quirk plz don’t think that, it’s just… the vibe I get. It’s not Girl in Red or any other song I’ve heard about girls liking girls sung by WLW, and it’s definitely not a modern version of I kissed a girl by Katy Perry either. It feels very, very stereotypical and more or less gives me vibes that it was made to appeal to straight men and straight women the most. Not saying you have to be a certain sexuality to enjoy a song but it is very clear about that song was meant to attract imo. I could be wrong.

I don't like Cavetown as a whole lol

The Dance Monkey hate is so funny and so valid

Y'know, one of the things I really like about older music is that most of it is pretty clean. It's definitely an aspect that appeals to me. Even when they do mention sex it's usually replaced by something else. The phrase "making love" sounds more romantic than sexual, y'know? Nowdays (and I hate to sound like a boomer) it feels like every song has to have a ton of swearing in it. I guess I just don't see the appeal.

Anyway, I also don't really care for modern Christian music. I have to hear it a lot and tbh a lot of it sounds a little samey-samey. Same instruments, same types of singers, and always that chord machine (whatever you call it? The sorta aura-sounding thing) in the background which is kinda overdone. It's a bit of a shame because I feel like you can do a lot with Christian music and some older Christian songs I've heard sound awesome, but nowadays it just sounds... corporate.

Oh and also I always see people call breakcore "autism music" but I heard it once and was immediately turned off by it. No thanks.

I'm not a fan of dance monkey either tbh. Although, there is a specifc edited version of it that I like made by CORVYX. I found it through a nightcore channel called U N D E R D O G S, which is one of the few nightcore channels that I still like and listen to. The reason I like this version is because it sounds a lot darker than the original, and I live for grimdark-ish sounding song edits (and I don't necessarily mean daycore, I actually don't like daycore that much, aside from a select few songs that were actually edited well imo). Also, just a warning, the video by U N D E R D O G S is a little graphic in some parts. I thought I'd mention that in case anyone decides to look it up. I'm also really tempted to make some kind of horror themed OC based on this version of the song.

Speaking of daycore, the reason I usually prefer nightcore over daycore is because a lot of daycore edits (at least the ones I've listened to) are either edited so slow to the point where the song is insufferable to listen to, and/or the voice is deepened so much to the point where it sounds insufferable to listen to. It's especially insufferable if the original song was fast, like some sort of party song. At that point, I'd rather listen to nightcore, because at least the song keeps its fast party-like vibe.

Also, speaking of washing machine heart, I'll only listen to the daycore version of that song. When I first listened to the original version, I just sort of didn't get it back then? I didn't hate it, but it did have me kind of bored for some reason. Months later, I ended up hearing the daycore version of it in someone's Dark Deception fanart speedpaint, and for some reason, the song actually stuck with me that time. The daycored version is also considered one of my "vent songs" now. I know that sounds dumb, but some (if not most) of the lyrics kind of line up with the dark side of my feelings for certain fictional S/Os of mine. They comfort me and hurt me at the same time, especially a specific one right now because of various reasons that I won't go into right now. Why don't I move on? Because I refuse to have one of the only things that makes me happy anymore taken away from me because some stupid content involving those characters keeps upsetting me.

Pepperly

Most radio music from the 2010s on is pretty mediocre imho, but my most HATED, REVILED song is Mambo No 5. I will not explain further.
