And then u just end up looking at a character for 10 mins asking urself if you really really want/need the design and u end up just missing them bc someone else claimed and ur filled with regrets

-skyfullofstars yeah marymaggotface summed it up nicely, drawing the character you’re entering the dta for is what I mean by regular. And I mean I think it’s the true way to use the term because otherwise it’s just a trade, and regular dtas don’t have another term for it. I just kinda get disappointed bc I’m like ‘oh cool! A DTA!’ And I go there expecting to see many people entering it with their drawing and even if you don’t want to participate you can still look and appreciate the entries, but then you look and it’s just some people making a deal with holds and you’re just like ‘oh... It’s just a trade...’
no shade btw lol I don’t mind you two trading or anything, the example isn’t really targeted I’ve just experienced that precise situation multiple times.
I do wish people wouldn’t use the term DTA for their trades though, kinda spoil the term’s meaning and reputation

I understand I don't feel targeted! I totally understand, maybe I should start holding DTA's with sweeties I get instead of sending them off free to hold up the legacy of real DTA's.
