Since the original Unpopular Opinion Thread is locked (it turned into a shit-show reeeaaal fast) , I've gotten permission to remake it.
I've decided to use the original rules for the thread since those were gucci

I think the Nintendo Switch is overrated. It makes me kinda sad that the 3DS didn't get a port of Let's Go since it looked nice. IIRC Sword & Shield is going to be Switch only too.
Gameplay wise I've only used it once or twice at a friends house, and it just felt like I was playing on a DS.. except with the TV as a monitor. Something about its design feels off to me, and I feel like dropping 300$ on a console just for me to buy 2 games is.. a bit much.
tl;dr i'm salty over the switch, rip 3DS
I mostly don't like to drop by these kinda threads but I relate to you since it feels like Nintendo makes new consoles too fast and I've been having torn feelings on buying a Switch too
I respect anyone who loves animal crossing, but honestly, I don't like it. I can't place my finger as to why, it's just not for me...? I played Pocket Camp, but I got bored of it.
Also, Local Multiplayer > Online Multiplayer.

i dont hate impidimp but it doesnt feel very pokemon-y. more like something you'd find in that yokai watch or whatever. interesting type combo, though.

- (This one’s a bit more rant-y oof) I agree sooooo so much with the people farther above, the Nintendo Switch is overrated. I’m not a huge gamer anymore so I’ve just been using my neat little Nintendo 3DS to play the last Pokémon games but Sword and Shield is out for Switch only and now I’m so sad?? For the first time ever, a Pokémon game reallyyy appeals to me, but there’s absolutely no way I’m spending $300 on a Switch just so I can play one game ;v;

I'm just as upset about the lack of national dex in sword and shield as anybody, but people need to chill out a little. It's the same song and dance you see whenever a new gen is about to come out: massive amounts of hype over first trailer, more news comes out and then suddenly its the worst generation ever and pokemon is ruined forever because my favorite pokemon isn't here/this new mechanic is dumb/the new pokemon suck. Then when the game finally comes out and everyone loves it. I'm sure Game Freak has a very valid reason for not including every pokemon, and I've heard that theres still going to be a TON of pokemon in the games in the first place.
I mean people are just mad at this sudden shift in focus, and they didn't tell us until after making a confusing throwaway statement, only later clarifying what's up. If they were better in how they gave this information, I imagine it wouldn't have gone over 100% different, it would have still gone better than how they did it. I will definitely admit some people are taking it too far, but not everyone is.
I've chilled out since, but yeah I'm still not buying it. They changed their focus, and that's fine, but not why I played the games, so I'll save my money. I'm allowed to not buy the Pokemon game. Not because you were implying I can't, but I got straight up told I'm not allowed to not buy it by someone.
If you go after anyone buying the game though, yeah you are a bad person. Let them have their fun.
theres too much hate on swsh imo? like it isn't even out yet and it doesn't feel like an unpopular opinion to dislike or hate the games at this point ( it's only unpopular to hate on some pokemon or designs ig? ). it got announced like a few months ago. please. please calm down until we have more info. yes it sucks that not all pokemon are going to be added in but ?? shrugs... i don't like that decision either but it makes sense in a way?
also yes. scorpions are kinda cute,, i'm biased bc i'm a scorpio and thats one of the only reasons i like them but . scorpions. good.
also thirded on the switch, i have one but it still seems overpriced? at least for the console and add-ons it just feels like too much to spend.. i still love my 3ds its just that some of the games on it arent my cup of tea exactly and the graphics when you look close enough are really pixely and normally i'm not a graphics person but that kind of bothers me. its still a good console though and the whole ds line is nostalgic for me. also flipnote.
oh also for some reason mario odyssey and pokemon lets go eevee don't catch my attention so i haven't played them in a good couple of months.. i should but the only thing i play on switch anymore is splatoon 2

I was lucky to get mine for Christmas, but so many of the games are so expensive that I had to search for days to find a well-priced splatoon 2 and it's battery life.. isnt that good
alsO I aGREE SM TO THAT YT COMMENT THING?? they're literally never funny and the joke is normally so obvious ugh
