Sword Art Online isn't terrible; there's some wasted potential (but most shows have that, bleh) and the art style is kinda bland and generic, but the plot concept is actually kinda cool.

i used to draw ferals all the time but i'm not as interested in them anymore and am much more focused on my humanoid characters, but that doesn't mean i don't love em! i feel like sometimes people look at my feral ocs and just go "wowwww, they're collecting d u s t"
The disgusting narrative that buying small luxuries like coffees or the occasional pricy snack means you deserve the poverty/debt/problems you’re in needs to go, and fast.
To say people should only live on the bare minimum or they deserve to be impoverished for daring to buy the once-a-week coffee or smashed avocado toast or an Uber after a long shift at work instead of walking is absurd in every way (looking at you, Chase bank). Small luxuries are not making people poor. Stagnant wages and rising costs of living, education, and medical care are what make people poor.
Seems like common sense but the amount of people shaming the ‘millenials’ for unnecessary, but insignificant spending (that they had the luxury of doing themselves in a different time or wage bracket) across many of the major social media platforms and even news articles is ridiculously high.
pokemon sword and shield just... doesn’t look good? the designs are bland (some of the humans look alright tho), the legendaries are bland too, the region as a whole looks fairly small, and the um. no spoilers but uh... this new mechanic just... um... hm. i just don't feel like much thought or effort was put into this game compared to the others? like... it's more of a cash grab than a game made w/ love
sun and moon were bad enough imo, i barely got thru a quarter of ultra sun/moon before i gave up bc it was that boring - and now this
i'm glad other ppl are enjoying it tho! i'm sure i'll warm up to it eventually it just might take awhile 😅

2. The sword and shield legendaries are too similar and I don’t like them together. Seperately maybe. Also the fact one is literally just holding its sword is rather bland.
I agree with you, January. I make minimum wage and by saving up my vacation pay for a VERY long time, I was able to use that to afford an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil for design work I do. This doesn't mean I'm wasting money or that I deserve shame for having done that.
I remember reading somewhere about a teen whose family were impoverished but she had always dreamed of owning a Gameboy Advance or some such handheld game. She worked hard and gave her small pay to her parents to help with bills and was a good person all around. Her brother loved her so much that he put aside some of his own pay every paycheck and saved enough to buy her the game device and a couple of games, as a show of appreciation for her hard work for the family and because he loved her. When other people saw her family looking so impoverished and her with her game device, they scoffed and said they must not be that impoverished as she could afford to have a game device and suggested that if their life was so hard, she should sell the device and games and use that money for rent/food. It hurt her deeply to be judged that way, which is why she posted about it.

Yes, if someone looks like they're trying to spend their food stamps/whatever on cigarettes and booze, then I don't care if you judge them for that, because that's not what food stamps/whatever are for. If they saved up their own money to get themselves something nice through hard work, though? LEAVE THEM ALONE.
I choked on my drink due to your first point. I'm kinda glad I'm not the only person who had that worry when seeing the gimmick in the new pokemon games.

When I saw the giant Pokémon thing too I admit it made me laugh. It seems like a really goofy concept that’s hard to take completely seriously but at least that doesn’t mean it can’t be entertaining.

i'm really looking forward to the new pokemon games, but i really have to agree that the legendaries look a little similar (even though i love them hAHA)
although, the trend of legendaries looking completely different as well as the trailer revealing them makes me wonder if there's going to be a third legendary that acts as kind of an opposing force? or something question mark?

Honestly? I actually like the legendary designs for sword and shield, although I do agree that they look quite similar and the sword looks a little goofy. I'm mostly looking forward to the open world stuff. Now that looked amazing.
