The Prompt (If needed):

[OC] finds themselves in a quiet, rustic-looking town with busy individuals and floating things hovering about left and right. Magic fills the air and they feel drawn to one source. The source? A tall, brown-haired man with pointy ears and a wide assortment of golden earrings. He seems to not be busy now. What shall [OC] do?

If anyone wishes, I am willing to make links between Gold and your OC, provided they did interact with one another. You can be rude to Gold, scare him, etc. But Gold will usually be polite to a tee.

Mila relaxed a little as Gold reassured her, though she didn't entirely believe his words. People often said they didn't mind what others did to make money, but they always sung a much sourer tune when crimes become involved.

"It's alright, you don't have to apologize." She responded, letting out a soft sigh. "It's not something most people would be made uncomfortable by. For the record, no-one's age particularly makes a difference to me. Whether you're 18 or 80, I enjoy your company and you're a brilliant person, so.. that's what matters." She picked up her sandwich, finishing off the last piece she had in one bite.

"I... have made other friends of mine uncomfortable with such questions in the past. I asked her what she did for a living many seasons ago and she reluctantly told me of her endeavors with some... less than desirable groups of people for which she intimidated rival groups in exchange for clothes. I really do not take into account one's job when I decide to be friends with them. As long as your job is not the slaughter of others, then I have no qualms with it." Gold pauses for a moment, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. How could he have crossed this line again? He truly hated upsetting friends of his. He takes a quick sip of tea before he speaks once more. "It is my brother who is more inclined to judge you based on career before personality. Growing up with him made me aware that status and titles mean little when compared to friendship."

Stopping again, he hums an affirmative to Mila in response to the topic of age, electing to comment once more. "If I had to guess my age, I would say I am somewhere in my twenties. I could look like this for up to age 500 before I begin aging again."

Gold offered a short laugh, a smile dancing its way onto his face. "Indeed, I do consume Moonberries quite often, especially when I am to make rations for Kingdom. It is only if I have gone a while without good rest that I consume one during the day. Would you like to see the other berries, or would you like to see something else?"

Mila listened to his words closely, considering each one in detail. If truthful, as she was inclined to believe he was, perhaps crime wouldn't be such a breaking point after all. The murder thing certainly wasn't an issue, as it was so strongly discouraged within the guild that once one of their own members ended up being turned in to the guards for their crimes. Granted they had been slaughtering guild-members, but the refusal to engage in unnecessary killings extended outside the guild's protective rankings.

She made a soft, intrigued noise as Gold attempted to guess his age, intrigued by the lengthy lifespan. Though she had met people with lives far longer than her own was destined to be, hearing someone casually speak about 500 years being within their lifespan was still a suprise to her each time. Instead of comment on that, though, she chose something a little less related to age.

"While we're on the topic of looking a certain way, what do you actually look like, Gold?" Mila asked, settling into a more comfortable position now she had finished eating. It was a question she enjoyed asking people, as it was both practical incase she ever needed someone else to look for them and something that told a lot about someone's personality. "You needn't worry about me judging you, or anything, as I can't really visualise like that anymore. I'm just curious."

How he looked? Oh, that felt like a sharp turn to their conversation. Gold, taken aback for a moment, was completely silent for all of a minute. This was... not something he described quite often. What should one say? What to start with? Perhaps it could be best to go with a quite recognizable feature? Ah, yes, the one thing he dislikes about his face. "Well, the most notable features of my appearance are my eyes, which are quite golden according to my brother, and the scar on my face coming from the base of my jaw on the left side of my face that stops on the bridge of my nose. My hair is quite long and rarely not in a braid. It is a medium brown color. Ah....." Gold trails off midsentence, seemingly in thought. It is another full minute before he can manage to continue. "I apologize, I do not often look at my face. It is rare for me not to wear my scarf or gloves, both of which are red, so I suppose that can contribute to my appearance...

Sh_dz8

"Well, erm, I was thinking of showing you to our designated healing building, where one of my primary responsibilities lie. I...have not used it for a while, since its placement is not as close to the castle gates as I would like. It became inconvenient for the injured to come to me or for me to come to them, but now I've gotten much more efficient." A bald-faced lie from Gold. Sure, it was a little hard to maneuver patients into the building, but other, much darker and certainly unexplainable reasons were the root cause of his discontinued use of the most high-tech building in Kingdom. An invisible shudder raced like lightning down the Elf's spine just thinking of the inside of his building.

"No need to apologize. Your description is helpful, and focusing on the key details like that is what I prefer." Mila responded. She wondered what was going on in his mind, that he had taken such pauses - unless he was continuing his tea, which could just be the case. Though his scar piqued her intrigue, she didn't comment on it; she would despise it if someone started making statements about her own merely to satisfy their curiosity, and she didn't feel like being a hypocrite here.

"Would it bother you if I take my plate and cup out to the kitchen?" She asked, placing her hands in her lap. She wanted to get a better sense of the inside of the house, and it was easier to do that from within the room she was trying to map out, rather than from a distance. Still, she had learned some people found guests taking their own dishes to be rude, and she'd rather not offend her friend after so much kindness.

"Thank you for the reassurance, Mila," Gold says after a moment, his gloved hands moving up to trace the scar upon his face. It... Oh well. It would fade in time, hopefully. Even though the essence of pure negative thoughts and emotions had long since worn off of the injury it made, at times just thinking of the scar made it feel as if that malicious presence was still there. His thoughts had wandered a bit too far, as he realized that he had been silent for far too long. He should definitely answer her inquiry. He trusted her enough to enter his kitchen, so it didn't bother him that she asked.

"It would not bother me if you did that, no. Please go wherever you wish to inside my home. Would you like me to give a layout of the rest of the house?"

Sh_dz8

"Of course. If you would follow me, I shall lead you there." Gold states, beginning to pick up pace again. He seemed to be getting farther from the center of Kingdom and a little closer to the castle walls. Several buildings of different styles and shapes passed by, some looking more like something from a historic section of town, and others like temporary or less-stable buildings. Amidst the mismash of buildings was a white, church-like building decorated with golden hearts. Stale healing magic radiated from the expensive-looking, but mostly unused place of healing, further expressing its use.

Mila picked up her plate and cup in each hand, then got to her feet. "I'd really appreciate that, yes please." She responded, before turning away and taking a moment to acknowledge the doorway to the kitchen. She wasn't sure if Gold was finished eating yet or not, so she ventured off into the kitchen alone, setting down her dishes on the first empty counterspace she came across.

Aziza was surprised that she passed as an adult; even though she is only 17.

“Well first of all…I’m not an adult, I’m 17. That’s not an adult in human standards, I don’t know how it works for you Elves since Elves typically live much longer? Anyways , the standard for a human adult is 18 years, I’m one year behind.” she explained, sounding slightly annoyed.

“Apologies for my rambling, so do you know the Elf Lorraine and her kind? If not, then I presume you really do not know the Elves of the Forest.” she added.

* “Hell, I’m one of Lorraine’s pupils just for my Unique Ability, now I feel awkward telling this Elf about her and their Elven kind.” * she again thought.

Gold took only a moment to gather himself as his nerves spiked. He could feel the horrid things of his dreams that happened and not-happened from here. And he was sure it did not happen here, per se, but the inside was similar to the place of his recent nightmares. So.... Perhaps it would be best to only stay briefly. Without much fanfare did the Elf push open the doors of the slightly unkept facility, leading way to a pristine white hall with several sterilized rooms. There was one room at the end of the hall that looked...off. There were a couple bloodstains on the white door, and there appeared to be attempts to block it with objects.

While it was true that Gold had not yet finished his food, he was never one to eat very much. He had eaten about half, and as Mila got up he followed suit. He placed the remainder of his sandwich inside a cold box running on a muted, dull magic that certainly was not like Gold's. He, offering a smile, began to describe the layout of his dwelling.

"Here in my kitchen, you are currently standing in front of the counter. To the right of the counter is both the spicket-sink and the woodstove. My pots are hung up all across the ceiling and the icebox is beside the kitchen's entryway. Behind the armchairs, in the sitting room, there is an entrance to a hallway. The hallway is a little dark, but the first entry in the hallway is to the washroom and the second one is to the healing room. That is also where Candor, a witch I live with, sleeps, but he often opts to sleep on the loveseat instead. I have yet to determine why this is." Gold takes a pause, as if trying to think of how to explain the upstairs of his home. Only two rooms and a spare room were present, but the stairs would be theoretically hard to place. It was worth a shot though! " To the far left of the sitting room, there is a set of stairs with 12 steps. There is a loft area at the top of the stairs, along with three rooms. The room closest to the stairs is mine, the center room is a spare room, and the room farthest right with the muted magic flares surrounding the door is the room of my elder brother. Is this a sufficient description of my dwelling?"

"You are not an adult?" Gold asks, his head tilted a few degrees to the side in a display of further confusion. "My apologies, I do not have many good relationships with humans. The ones I have relations with that are adults also look quite young, hence why I assumed. I am also... quite bad at determining ages. Many of the children here wear an enchanted pendant or earring that allows me to tell an adult from a child." He pauses after being asked of an Elf he knew not of, and he replied with a succinct shake of his head. "I do not know of her, no. There are only around 100 elves in all of Kingdom, and never have I heard of one named Lorraine."

A brief flash of panic ran through her at the mention of an ice box, causing the hair on the back of her neck to rise and her magic to flare internally with a defensive ferocity. Just that one word was enough to drag her back into her time with her parents, freezing and trapped and nothing more than a tool for their profit. Only a few short moments after the emotion became apparent, she stifled her magic to the point it could pass unnoticed on the sensory plane, not wanting to interrupt Gold and certainly not wanting to be questioned on her attitude.

She wasn't there, not frozen, not anymore. She was here, safe and warm in the house of a dear friend. Here. Safe. Warm.

By the time she brought herself back to attention, Gold was still speaking in his usual tone. It was comforting to hear the elf's voice, so casual and calm, and she forced herself to turn her focus from stifling her magic to paying attention again. Though her magical presence carried with it the dying remnants of panic, it had mainly calmed, and she assumed it was safe to let linger.

"That is sufficient, yes." Mila responded, though she'd only caught about half of it. "I appreciate the description, and I'll be sure to put it to good use if I need to get around your home at all."
