The Prompt (If needed):

[OC] finds themselves in a quiet, rustic-looking town with busy individuals and floating things hovering about left and right. Magic fills the air and they feel drawn to one source. The source? A tall, brown-haired man with pointy ears and a wide assortment of golden earrings. He seems to not be busy now. What shall [OC] do?

If anyone wishes, I am willing to make links between Gold and your OC, provided they did interact with one another. You can be rude to Gold, scare him, etc. But Gold will usually be polite to a tee.

Mila was vaguely amused as she tried to work out what the new addition atop Gold's head was in his shadow, the pot of ink mimicking a tiny hat where it sat. "Welcome back," She greeted him as he set the supplies down, further amused to discover that he had been carrying something on his head rather than wearing any kind of oddly shaped hat. "Did you get everything you need?"

Gold ShiftingFoxx

"Indeed, I did!" Gold joyfully replies, taking a seat on the floor before the coffee table. He's still quite lively with a preparedness to write, setting out all of his items on the table. He dipped his quill into the inkpot and hovered it over the top of his scroll, looking up to his friend in an almost expectant manner. Perhaps this could be a way to get some information on some people Mila knows? That would be useful, especially if he were to end up where she resides. He proceeds to write a very fancy 'Greetings' on the paper before finally asking something of Mila.

"What is your mentor's name, first off? And would you like me to identify who is drafting the message for you?"

((To everyone else, I think I'll be waiting till after finals to reply to you guys! I'm having a little bit of a tough time getting Gold in character for your replies and I keep doubting myself when I write your posts ;-;'''))

"Her name is Charlotta, and yes please. If you could mention your name, who you are in relation to me and that you're classified yellow, that'd be perfect." Mila told him, before pausing. Classified yellow sounded kind of ominous without context, didn't it? "To clarify, the 'classified yellow' thing just means that I have nothing to hide from you, it's nothing to worry about. It's to tell her how much is safe to write in her response, since my letters can never be private."

Gold ShiftingFoxx

Gold had to listen to what Mila had to say before he wrote, tilting his head to the side when she mentioned the classified yellow tidbit. However, his confusion was quite quickly dismissed by his companions speedy clarification. He hums an affirmative note and diligently begins writing. At first, his penstrokes were quite controlled and held back, it took all of ten seconds for the feather pen and his hand to begin moving at full speed with precise, yet broad and detailed line work. The moment he completed his first sentence, he looked up to Mila rather expectantly.

"I have completed the first part of the message. Would you like me to relay what I have written for your approval?"

Mila sat quietly as Gold wrote, going over what she was going to say in her head a few times. It was pretty difficult to convince Charlotta that she was safe through letters, thanks to the very nature of someone else controlling what got written. Still, she was sure she could reassure her.

"Ah, yes please." Mila responded to her friend's question. "Also, just let me know when you want me to speak the rest of what I'd like written. I don't want you to need to prompt me constantly."

Gold ShiftingFoxx

"I shall do that, then, after I relay what I have already written. Please do tell me if anything should be changed, " Gold hummed, lifting up the paper and clearing his throat with a small 'ahem' noise. He speaks in an official-sounding tone, his calmness still there, but with a more formal undertone.

"Greetings Charlotta, I am Gold of Kingdom. I have been classified yellow and write to you on behalf of your protege, Mila."

Pausing for a little, he glanced from the paper to Mila to see if she liked or disliked the beginning of her letter. "I do hope I am polite to Charlotta in my writing. "

The corners of her lips twitched upwards into a small, amused smile at the letter. Protege sounded so very official for a street thief, and she could already imagine Charlotta's response to it.

"It's very polite, yes. You don't need to worry about that, though - Charlotta honestly will not judge your tone over letter." Mila told him. "In fact, she doesn't seem to judge people in person over tone all that much either... Regardless, yes, it's polite."

Gold ShiftingFoxx

"Is that true?" Gold hums, preparing his quill once more to write. Just seeing the amusement in his friend's expression brought him to stifle a short laugh. "I suppose it is just the population of Kingdom that adheres so strictly to politeness, then?" The man sighs softly, letting the message sink in as he hovers his quill over the scroll paper. He quickly makes one last statement in writing, before speaking once more. "I am ready for your message now, friend. I shall transcribe it word for word from you to ensure that I am accurate."

Mila was quiet for a few more moments, once again considering what was best to say, before telling him the message she wanted to send.

"I wish to let you know that I am safe, well fed, and sheltered for the night. I am aware that I haven't arrived at your home as was expected of me, and I'm terribly sorry for that. The carriage drivers who were supposed to take me to your cottage instead decided they would go wherever they liked, under the assumption that their blind passenger would be oblivious, and as a result I bailed on the third day of travel. I then walked for around a day until happening upon a kingdom of magic.

Regardless of my derailed journey, you mustn't fret. I am safe with my dear friend Gold - he's the elf I spoke of from the train, the one who provided me with so much assistance and friendliness without demand of so much of a single coin in return. I am, however, entirely uncertain of how to get from Kingdom to your home in Iorus, and long overdue a magic reguiding. I show no symptoms of an overburdening, but one can never be too sure.

Please write back to me with guidance as soon as possible. Gold is the one who will be reading the letter for me, so there is no need for secrecy or code to be put to use. I trust him. Thank you for your time."

Gold ShiftingFoxx

LemonTeaRain (No need for a re-do! I can make more action happen lol)

As Gold listened intently to Mila's words, he wrote the message cleanly and efficiently. A prickle of unease took him as he paused on apostrophes and foreign words, taking a little more time to spell them out to ensure they were correct. His hands otherwise flew across the page as he wrote away. It took a few moments after Mila had finished speaking before Gold cleaned his quill, setting it beside the paper with a short hum. His eyes trail to the door, absently wondering if his housemates were home already and had just opted to not come out of their rooms, or if they'd be home, or if his brother had decided to spend the night somewhere else and not inform him-

Oh, right. He did have a guest. It was rude of him to not speak to her, it was rude to disappear into your thoughts when a guest was around! Quickly enough, he announces his completion of the writing with a short statement and an apology.

"I have written what you have spoken, Mila. I apologize for spacing out momentarily, I was wondering if my brother might be home tonight, or if both of my housemates are home already and just have not emerged."

(( Arachnerd it's completely fine! I know it can take a while to think of a response and I don't blame you. Take your time!))

Who will win?

Short ass, grumpy elf.

Vs

Tall, polite, mature elf?

The hylian said nought, sweeping his emerald eyes up and down, as if he was surveying his height.

Mila sat quietly as Gold worked, assuming he was simply reading over his work when he went quiet for a short while. No response was given to his apology once he said it, disregarding it as unnecessary.

She extended one hand out, ready to accept the letter and send it to Charlotta as soon as possible. The spell certainly wasn't her strong suit, but through integrating her innate element into it she had at least managed to make transporting a few small things work... Or at least, a few small things worked if she was trying to transport it to Charlie's house, and only Charlie's house. Anywhere else and it just came back after some time. "May I have it, please?" She asked. "And I'm interested to hear a little more about your housemates. I hope I won't prove a nuisance to them."

Gold ShiftingFoxx

Gold, when Mila extended her hand, gave her the scroll, smiling his usual polite grin as the witch took it. He was certainly intrigued as to how she'd send the letter, but really did not wish for Mila to strain herself. Before responding to any of Mila's inquiries about his two housemates, he opted to ask a question of his own.

"How do you plan on delivering the letter? If it is magic, then perhaps I could assist? I do not wish for you to strain your magic, friend. It would be irresponsible of me to have you injured." The Elf offers a smile, quickly changing topics to ensure that he would not forget to explain things about his housemates.

"As for my housemates, I have two of them. One is a witch that goes by the name Candor. His magic is... a little damaged and muted in its intensity, but he is still a formidable healer and fighter. He does not much outwardly display his emotions, but his magic flares with even a minute shift in mood. His magic is what keeps the candles in the home lit and floating," Gold happily explains, placing his hands in his lap. His expression and magic get a little more nervous when speaking of his brother next. "As for brother... His name is Jordys, but commonly goes by the name Fade. He is the Royal Judge, and.... happens to be able to bring memories of stressful or violent times to the surface of one's mind, where he is able to view them. If you ever wish to speak with His Majesty, you must be Judged by him to ensure you are not going to wish ill will upon him. Jordys firmly believes that one shows their true colors in an instance of life or death and will judge someone based on that. I do warn you because he is likely to use his magic upon any he does not recognize. He also tends to use that facet of his magic idly as well and he will coax bad memories from your mind without trying to."

Magic flowed from Gold's fingertips as he melded amber and copper together into a sphere, turning and having to look down to catch a glimpse of the small elf-like Stabil. He gave a half-bow to the boy and greeted him with a smile.

"Greetings, newcomer! Who may you be? I am Gold of Kingdom." The Elf did not offer a handshake, like what could be considered customary, but did gently clasp his hands together in front of him to signal he was not armed in any capacity with weapons.
