Mila opened her mouth to answer his question, but swiftly stopped and waited patiently as he switched topics. The letter wasn't going anywhere until she was ready, and hearing about Candor brought her quite a bit of intrigue.
As Gold described his brother, however, she felt an almost overwhelming anxiety, shifting uncomfortably in her chair and making no attempt to conceal her feelings from her magic. The idea of having someone use their magic against her without warning was uncomfortable enough, but doing that and drawing awful memories to the forefront of her mind in the process? Then for him to view them? She didn't know how well he could interpret a blind persons memory - unless he went all the way back to the original attack, where he life was endangered.. but she had been only a child! Surely he couldn't judge her on that?
"I.. think I would like to avoid your brother," Mila said quietly, trying to force the swiftly forming visual memory out of her mind. They were always so difficult to combat, when she had no real visual input to replace it with. "That sounds awful."
