I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before, honestly!
A lot of us have associated theme songs or playlists for our characters, relationships, or stories-- show off your favorites here!
How do you choose songs? Do you pick songs whose lyrics fit the character, songs the character might listen to, songs whose feel reminds you of them-- or other reasons? I'd love to hear your thought process!

Everytime I give an OC a Headcanon theme they go in this playlist.

The way I do my character playlists varies a bit. I've done one or two where it's all music the characters would actually listen to, but in most of my current ones that's just one category. Stuff they'd listen to, stuff that reminds me of them, stuff that fits a certain moment or scene in their story, and sometimes for musical characters even songs they might have written themselves if they were real xD
I've got a playlist for my webcomic i'm writing about two robot OCs who go on a cross-country roadtrip trying to find somebody, I've got a playlist for my filmstar 1930's song and dance couple, (there's one or two more modern songs near the end that either they'd still be around to hear by the time they came out, or they're modern songs with a vintage twist), i've got a playlist for my immortal cyberpunk assassin (that one's got some funky variation but i still think it flows p nicely, she's almost 100 and has a lot of aesthetics/"Sounds" as a result), and i've got a playlist for my synth/vaporwave OC. i am SUPER into music and it's really fun to find all these different sounds and think about the Vibes they give off, and then tie those vibes with characters i've made in so many different ways! any day i get to add something new to these playlists is a good day by me ; u ;
His story is mainly in my head and not written down. So the songs may not make sense without context. But!
