Listen to the song from the user above you!

Posted 7 years, 1 month ago (Edited 6 years, 5 months ago) by Aikaikaik

Heya! Figured I'd start up a thread like this as I abolsutely love finding various music, and noticed there isn't a thread for this here yet! Plus, thinking on it, a good few of my OCs are inspired by some songs and music in general, and it never hurts to be on the hunt for more music to check out!

Basic Rules:

1. The person above you will link you a song to listen to!

2. Give your thoughts on it - is it something you liked, or is it just not your cup of tea? Did it inspire you to make an OC on the fly? Feel free to express this as much or as little as you want! (Please be respectful and civil in your reply, though.)

3. In the same post, link a song for the next person to listen to!

[edit] 4. If you're next in line, please claim before going ahead; I totally missed out due to IRL things going on, I realize some people might of been Ninja'd! So let's try to avoid being ninja'd from now on <:"D

EDIT; PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Heya! I've gotten a few concerns from people that go through this thread that some may of been a bit disrespectful about one's tastes in music. Music is something it's obvious not everyone is going to like the same thing, but I must remind you to PLEASE, be respectful to the person above you when having shared music. If it isn't your thing, please be kind and simply say "It wasn't my cup of tea, sorry. I'm glad you like it though!" or something nice along those lines. Having someone be told the song you chose (which might even mean a lot to you on your own terms and reasons behind it) is horrible or nasty, can be a bit rude. Let's do our best to keep polite and civil here while we all jam out to some awesome tunes! Thanks!

All good? Let's get started! I'll link over a song for the first person to start things off!

First song: The Maddest Kind of Love, by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

poicyss

This is so cool! Has such a... mysterious? Vibe? The singer's soft tone with the lyrics and the backing track is just like, off putting but not enough to be unlistenable. In fact, this goes hard! Very electronic, even though I'm getting the older anime vibe from it. Very... retro? It's so fun, I kinda wanna watch it now just for further context lol!

What a silly little song it is very funky like the name suggests. The clapping and the electrical noises really work in the terms of the song, it's like a little robot is singing and clapping. Although not personally my taste it is a fun song, would make great background music for like a smash bro's game, maybe a silly boss in a mario game. Honestly I thought daft punk did ... punk music ... didn't know they did edm but what a fun surprise to find out! Overall not a bad song just not for me personally :)

JibblySquibbly

Never heard this one before and it's super different from what i usually listen to! I wasn't really into the start, but as soon as the drum(?) started up i actually quite liked it! The singers relatively soft tone and the guitar strums are really calming. It reminds me of hot summer nights and goofing off with friends :} Very nostalgic despite never hearing it before, I'll be adding this one to a playlist!

Listened to When You're Gone. It's not the type of song I usually listen to but I kind of like it! It's calming, it would be a nice song to have in the background while working on something. The vocals are really nice, and it has the feeling of sitting around a campfire. Just all-around cozy.

I really like the guitar and the vocals in the song, it's not a genre I'd listen to often but it's a good song! The instruments go together super well with the singer's voice, it's very smooth! It's a nice contrast compared to what we usually listen to.

Bark at the Moon - Ozzy Osbourne

Roheryn

This is pretty different from most of what I normally end up listening to, but it's great (and made it's way onto my liked list). I really enjoyed the guitar (especially during the opening section of the song and the instrumental section roughly halfway through), and the singer's voice works really well with the sound of the instruments. The lyrics are quite interesting as well.

Iris Rose - Orville Peck (one of my favourite singers ^^)

Roheryn - You know, I'm not usually a country person, but every once and a while I'll jam to it. I really liked the melody of this one and how slow but still boppy it was! I'll definitely be putting it on my liked list! It may have just given me an idea for a little one-off comic of some of my OCs, too! Thank you for introducing me to Orville Peck!

Sleepwalkers by Draconian

denishdraws

pixiiyogii I like the sound and the vibes, I don't understand the lyrics tho but I like them, it's like dark, soft, and rock get mixed into a bowl. overall I like them they make me have the mixed feelings of calming and noisy at the same time, it's really cool

I want to be your lover-ChoQMay

Anata No Sobani.- りりあ。

MILGRAM / Amane - The Purge March

MotherRat

I went with I want to be your lover-ChoQMay! I like the tone ?accent? of the singing! It's quite unique and sounds very upbeat! The song is super sweet and just a fun little love song. I like the use of piano in the background that has a really bouncey beat too it. While yes, I couldn't understand most of the song, it sounds really happy and based on the name and the tone of the song you can def get the love song vibes. Although not something i'd listen to all the time, I like understanding the lyrics when I listen to them, this is quite a fun little song!

I think the instruments aren't exactly my style, though they sound very great together, I like the piano keys here and there. I do, however, very much like the vocals, he's got a nice voice and his note control is stellar! I actually didn't like the chorus at all at first, but that actually did grow on me by the end. It's a genuinely good song, short and sweet, and for that, it's perfectly good! I'd have to be in a specific mood to listen to it.

Opera of the Urchin - Grim Salvo

(Epilepsy warning for the video, but honestly, I recommend watching without it. I think it would take away on a first listen <3)

MotherRat

First off, love the animation. Reminds me of superjail! As far as rap goes that I like this is really good, I like the part around 43 seconds in and 1min in. The style of it is very fun to listen too. I also quite enjoy how the singer 'talks' a bit around the end of the song, it really contrasts from the rest of the song but works super well. The background part beat is also very good, it upholds the vocals and works with them- not against them. Overall this is a very good song
