Listen to the song from the user above you!

Posted 7 years, 1 month ago (Edited 6 years, 5 months ago) by Aikaikaik

Heya! Figured I'd start up a thread like this as I abolsutely love finding various music, and noticed there isn't a thread for this here yet! Plus, thinking on it, a good few of my OCs are inspired by some songs and music in general, and it never hurts to be on the hunt for more music to check out!

Basic Rules:

1. The person above you will link you a song to listen to!

2. Give your thoughts on it - is it something you liked, or is it just not your cup of tea? Did it inspire you to make an OC on the fly? Feel free to express this as much or as little as you want! (Please be respectful and civil in your reply, though.)

3. In the same post, link a song for the next person to listen to!

[edit] 4. If you're next in line, please claim before going ahead; I totally missed out due to IRL things going on, I realize some people might of been Ninja'd! So let's try to avoid being ninja'd from now on <:"D

EDIT; PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Heya! I've gotten a few concerns from people that go through this thread that some may of been a bit disrespectful about one's tastes in music. Music is something it's obvious not everyone is going to like the same thing, but I must remind you to PLEASE, be respectful to the person above you when having shared music. If it isn't your thing, please be kind and simply say "It wasn't my cup of tea, sorry. I'm glad you like it though!" or something nice along those lines. Having someone be told the song you chose (which might even mean a lot to you on your own terms and reasons behind it) is horrible or nasty, can be a bit rude. Let's do our best to keep polite and civil here while we all jam out to some awesome tunes! Thanks!

All good? Let's get started! I'll link over a song for the first person to start things off!

First song: The Maddest Kind of Love, by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

hikaru-i

I love pentatonix, I really like this too :DDD

Aimer's Kyoukara Omoide made me cry after listening to it

Krio

No wonder you cry, after hearing it and watching the video I was close to tearing up a bit yo. That song pulls on the heart strings.

On the flip side, here's a song that always serves to make me feel light and airy and happy and has inspired me through a few art blocks before just bc of it's energy!

I love Beirut to bits~

Meimorie

That song is beautiful. Much different than the stuff I usually listen to.

How about They Don't Need To Understand? This song really speaks to me. I love it so much.

Altiora

I do like the rhythm of it, though personally I wouldn't listen to it that often. It's a nice song though!

Cry Baby - The NBHD The neighbourhood is among my favorite bands <3

Skelleste

I have a hard time explaining why I like songs pffff I do like this one though!

My teacher started playing this band's music in class and I thought it was pretty good?
Id Engager by of Montreal

femboys

i get a pleasingly aesthetic vibe from it?? its not my favorite style of music but overall its actually enjoyable

how about

Bo En - My Time (OMORI vers.)

Sylvadox

Oh yes, I've seen/heard this! I like the song but I personally like to listen to the original. excited for OMORI though!

how about Eleanor Rigby-The beatles it's short but it good

kirakiraprince

I've never heard that song before. Usually not into the Beatles in the slightest, but I actually liked that song quite a lot!

I loved the violins, and what I believe are cellos, especially. The rhythm and beat wasn't too slow either.

How about Mercy by Muse!

Pickled

Eh, it's kind of weird to me. I like international music but it's always sounds pretty off when they
put English into it as well. Always seems to clash for me. Not my kind of music really, sorry. ^^"

Innocence by Eir Aoi since I've been into re-watching SAO (Sword Art Online) with my boyfriend lately.
Seriously, I love the prospect of having that kind of full dive virtual reality. :)

Serotina

I listened and sang along, haha. I used to love SAO

I'd reccomend the song Faceless by RED. It's one of my old favorites from the group.

konachelona

It's not bad! I don't usually listen to much alt rock/alt metal, but this song's pretty good. I'd play it on audiosurf, tbh. :/ The lyrics are kind of edgy, but at the same time, like... don't we all have days where we feel forgotten and faceless lmao. I'll check out RED's other stuff!

Helen of Troy by Telefon Tel Aviv. It's so bittersweet and sensual, and I love it.

Serendipitea

Huh! Not what I normally listen to, but still neat! I really enjoyed the beat and soft tones throughout the song. It made it feel subtle and almost-dreamlike.

Speaking of dreams, why not check out Dream Last Night by John Mark Nelson?

ArcaneArtefacts

I like it! I listened to it twice so I think that's a good sign. It's a very casual, easy on the ears and I think that's why I like it so much.
