"A weakness?" Santiago's eyes widened at Mantis' words. As someone who's job it was to work with souls stuck in the past and helped them move on, he felt obliged to give them a solid answer.
The necromancer fidgeted with his hands. "It's not a weakness, much less a bad thing at all. The past is made up of people's experiences and memories, but they aren't stuck in a vacuum. They shape people's personalities and relationships. So how I see it is that when you're being nostalgic, you're really feeling proud of who you've become and what you've overcome. I guess someone might call that self-care, maybe?"
He let out a soft sigh. "You can love the past as much as you want without it being a problem, but despite that - and hopefully to answer your last two questions - don't try to recreate it. That's where it becomes the problem. The more you do, the more you stunt your growth. I'm speaking from personal experience, too. And I don't know how to wait for the future, but all I can say is to not think about it too much. It'll become your past at one point. Trust me. Time goes by faster than you think."

Santiago closes his eyes, letting his face rest in his hands. "What do you do when you miss someone, and you're not able to see them for a while?"
