Give advice to the OC above you!

I don't think I've seen one like this around, so...

Is there something your OC is worried about or stuck on? Are they burning with a question YOU don't quite know how to answer? Try asking somebody else's OC for advice!

This is pretty simple. Post IC and ask the user below you for advice on something. The next person to post will post IC and give advice to your OC, then they'll ask for advice for themself! So it'll look something like this:

Character A: "I'm worried my friends don't like me anymore. What should I do?"
Character B: "You should try to take them aside and chat with them, let them know how you feel! I'm sure it just seems that way, but there's probably just something else going on!"
"As for me... No matter how hard I try, I just can't focus on my work! Is there anything I can do to make it easier?"

And so on. If you'd like, feel free to edit your post and have your OC respond to the advice the person below gave you, too!

RULES:

1. Be polite! Don't use a call for advice as an opportunity to chew a character out, whether IC-ly or not... They're asking for help, so give them some!
2. Try to put at least some effort into your advice. They'll appreciate it!
3. Wait at least 4 people before posting again. However, if the thread goes a few days without new posts, feel free to go again to get it back into action.
4. If, for whatever reason, you have problems with somebody in this thread, let me know and I'll do what I can to fix it.

Have fun!

"Tch, I'd personally let them rot, serves em right.  But if you're that insistent on saving them...people don't believe words, they believe action.  So you gotta show them that what you're saying is the right.  How you do that?  That's up to you.  Show em some dead bodies or something."

"So...without going into details, I...lost my best friend.  Now...she...was a pretty important person, right?  So she had to have a successor.  Only, the successor she got, without having any choice in the matter is a damn brat.  He's nothing like her.  And I feel like he's putting her to shame every damn day.  I wanna beat him senseless and teach him a thing or two about respect.  But...at the same time he's what's left of her.  I guess what I'm saying is that I don't know how to deal with this.  How can I just sit by and watch her legacy be ruined by her own damn sucessor?  Is there...anything I can do to make this situation any better for myself?"

Dragon PicklePantry

"I-I'm s-sorry to hear about your f-friend. I-I lost my best f-friend t-t-too s-so I c-can kind of understand. U-Umm, b-but is that man r-really so bad? Y-Your friend must've h-had a reason t-t-to pick him, r-right? M-Maybe y-you should w-wait a while and s-s-see if things g-get better, a-and if they don't y-you could t-talk t-to him ab-bout it? M-Maybe t-try to teach him h-how to rule like y-your friend?

His eyes turning to a shade of bright red, Dragon looks at the ground while fidgeting with his thumbs. "P-P-People k-keep leaving me," he mumbles quietly. "Th-They keep telling me that they'll b-be my friend and won't leave, but after a wh-while they d-disappear. I-Is it because I-I'm a monster? I-I-I didn't mean to be! Is there a w-way to change it and make people l-like me?"

NULL tiktaaliker

"Kid. Just, uh. If they leave you... Just forget about it. There's no reason to loom over it. If they leave... they're gone. Part of the past. And the past is useless. Besides, if they're not sticking around... you probably don't want them sticking around. They're no use to you. You should. Er. Find friends that'll stick around, you know? You'll find yourself a nice group of... friendos. Eventually. Yeah."

oh my god null no that's not what's going on

"There's... some things that remind me of things that I'd. Rather not. Be reminded of. It's more like glimpses and feelings and such. But I still don't like it. There'll be something I smell, or hear, or taste, and I'll get a feeling like... things have happened. Not very specific. But... still unpleasant. Uncomfortable. I've been avoiding a lot of things. But... there's some things that I'd rather not avoid. It's mostly foods. So I'm kind of at an... Impasse. Any opinions on what I should do?"

Crane Glitterbark

Crane stares ahead blankly, resting her chin on her gloved hands as she absorbs the problem. Or - wait, is she asleep? No, no. She's talking.

"I recommend writing a new manuscript, one that's more accurate that will correct the outdated information. I think you then take that a publisher and have them make many copies of it? But I've also heard that it can be very difficult to acquire a publisher if you're a first-time author... ah, I have an idea." She nods to herself, clearly satisfied with her conclusions. "Romance novels are very popular these days. You should write a romance novel that clarifies the summoning process, and then publish it. Perhaps someone will make a movie of it. I don't exactly know what movies are, but I know that happens to romance books, and then very many people go to see them. That way, everyone will know about your summoning ritual. How does that sound?"

"I have been informed by a wide variety of people that I need to start wearing shoes or else I will cut myself on a piece of glass, acquire some sort of terrible ailment, and then die. While this doesn't sound pleasant, I think I'd rather die than wear shoes. How can I explain this to others in a way that they'll understand?"

Dusty South-Sinner

Dusty scratches his leg with the talons of one of his bare feet as he listens to the situation being explained.
His tail waves slowly behind him in a calm and relaxed manor suggesting that he is totally at ease with his company, and that he himself does not pose a threat.
"If it were me I'd just hit em with a boot, they'll get the message" he explains unable to see the problem with his advice.
"You never see a dog, cat or snake wearing shoes do ya?!" He laughs... and then suddenly his expression turns vacant as the mental image of a snake wearing a boot on it's head enters his mind.
He snickers at the thought, and then gives his full focus back to you.
"Remember my words... If in doubt, give em a clout!"

(edit: Been more than 24 hours so I'm changing the question)

"My problem" Dusty says with less confidence in his tone "is that I'm a halfling... half demon half human. I want to be human more than anything and fit in with other humans. Maybe even make human friends? But it would seem as though blood is compulsory in my diet and I find myself..... well...... biting" he scratches his neck and looks to the ground.
"I don't know what I can do about this, or if there even is anything I can do about this. is there hope for me? can I live in harmony with humans? or am I doomed not to fit in with anyone? I'm too human for demons and too demon for humans"

Aegis of the Fallen Star Glitterbark

"Oh, that's tricky. Uh, um... gosh! How much blood do you need? Is it a lot? Maybe you can... uh, find someone who needs your special talents and is willing to pay you in blood for them? Like... just, y'know... A quick nip! You might be able to find multiple people to eat from too, if your consumption is too large for one person. I know that's probably a hard deal to sell, but you might find some people who are open-minded."

"Okay, this is a dumb problem, but hear me out. I'm a wizard, which means technology doesn't like me very much and breaks pretty easily when I'm around. The more complicated the thing is, the worse the problem gets. Normally, I can deal with that just fine, but it's starting to get cold and the heater won't work in my shop! I'm sick of paying a repairman to fix it every week; does anyone know of ways I can keep warm?"

"When it comes about saving money... The best is to make a budget plan with less money you have at the moment and STRICTLY stick to the plan YOU HEAR? STRICTLY... However, there are a lot of offerts when it comes to metal parts, I could give you some advice of them if you want... *whispers* then I'll send them a letter asking for money for my promotion."

"A problem huh... I guess it's how to maKE THE PRESIDENT OF THIS HUGE COMPANY TO STOP WASTING MONEY ON UNNECESSARY THINGS HE PLANS TO DITCH LATER I WISH I COULD STRANGLE HIM TO DEATH AND--"

"I would suggest that you not murder him. As for the best course of action, it depends on your status in the company relative to his, and possibly on your personal relationship as well. If you are a low-ranking member of the company, it may be unwise to seem as though you are ordering around one of your seniors. If you are equals, speak to him as an equal. If you are his superior, remind him of that. If you are friends, come to him with your honest concerns."

"I... often find myself having trouble communicating with others. I know what I want to express, but it feels as though I can never say what I mean in a way that others can understand."

Saturday LOVEMODEARCHIVE

"Oh, wow!! Well, I mean, you definitely have the look for that sorta thing, dude!

Uhh, if you want my opinion on it, I think it's totally achievable, it's just...a lot of time and money, like ya said... Lots of love's gotta be put into it, y'know? You also need to find actual bandmates at the same time; maybe ask some friends, if you have any? S-sorry, I hope that didn't come off as mean. My point is just...with a band, there's sooo so much you gotta plan ahead for and so much money, and effort whatwith actually getting a good sound that people will like, writing songs that people won't tire of, having functioning equipment and...it's a lot of work!

Big dreams are the hardest to make come true, but with enough dedication. you could totally, super do it! I mean, i'm definitely behind you on it!! I'll totally advertise your band and stuff if you decide to go through with it! Though the way I advertise may not be totally legal in some instances...ehe..."

"O-okay, uh, wow, uhm...I dunno if this is like, the best place to ask, but...Okay, okay, i'm just gonna blurt it, 'm jus' gonna blurt--

I-I REALLY! Want to propose! To my girlfriend, Sunday! I just--g-gosh, gosh, i'm so unsure about it...Like, we've been together over 2 years now, a-and...I mean, i'd say we're a pretty stable relationship; sure, we'll argue here and there b-but it's never anything serious, a-and we love each other, so, so much, it's just...I don't know if Sunday wants that kinda commitment...O-or, if it's too soon...or...Gosh, I just, really need some input from someone on the outside, if anyone could provide that..."

Alcott Northwind PicklePantry

Alcott blows out a small stream of smoke before scratching his chin thoughtfully. "I think you should propose," he says. "Two years is a long time. Pretty healthy, too. The way you make it sound, even if she says no I think she'll still stay with you." He smirks softly and ruffles Saturday's hair. "You'll be okay, kid. You're already off to a better start my own marriage was."

"Well... Ah, this is a little awkward. I'm not used to asking for help," grumbles the man as he scratches his neck. "Thing is, my oldest son hates my guys. Holds a big grudge against me for leaving his mom. I tried to stay with her, but I just couldn't. Nothing worked, nothing clicked. I thought I'd do more damage staying. You think that was the right thing to do? I mean, I'm not necessarily happier, although I feel a lot more free without my ex-wife looming over me. So, uh, yeah I guess I do feel a bit happier. But should I have stayed anyway for the rest of my kids?"

Jules Voyer hexdruin

PicklePantry

Jules eyes narrowed as in deep thought. "The separation of parents is hard on a kid. Mentally just strains them. Once you leave they will forever have that longing. Visiting you just won't be the same. So you have to understand how he feels. But truthfully, if you feel it was the right thing to do then, yes. If your truelly happy and you feel like the reason you left is now fixed then yes." There's a long pause after has finished speaking as if he's going over his words in his mind. He nods and then looks up at Alcott. "Give your son time. Don't push him away."

-

Jules hesitates for a moment. "I really want to get a dog. A guard dog of sorts. I'm scared to shits to get one because of an earlier time in my life were one attacked me. After all that is how I got my scar. However, I'm living in a rough neighborhood until I can get enough money to lease a house. What do you think I should do?"

 Alamea SweetasSaccharine

"I think you should get a puppy! Or maybe go to the pound and see if you can find a sweet doggy.  Dogs are really nice, and the right one will do its best to be your friend! You should look for that one!"

"It's been really hard living in heaven... Most of the angels up there don't like me... How do I show them I'm not scary? I'm always nice but they kind of just, look at me and then keep walking.."
