You could ask a relationship question in one of the other Q&A threads, but I thought a thread specifically for relationship questions would be fun, and good for developing character relationships!
In this thread, ask a question to the character a person posted above you in the thread, about a relationship in their life. You'll post IC as a character you would like to be asked about, and edit your post with your character's answer after the person below you asks them a question!
- The relationships in this thread don't have to be romantic! You could ask about a character's relationship with their sibling, their parents, their child, their dog, their rival, their boss, their worshippers-- you get the idea!
- If you want the person below to ask about a particular relationship (or give specific options, like either their brother or their best friend), you can specify at the bottom of your post; otherwise, people will ask you about a relationship that's listed on the character's profile. If you don't specify and no relationships are listed, you'll probably get a vague and potentially unfitting question like what their relationship with their mom is, so I recommend having at least one relationship listed somewhere.
- Questions can be anything: how the characters met, their favorite thing about the other character, silly nicknames, the worst fight they ever had, their favorite memory together, their plans for the future-- anything about a relationship the character has. Try to ask an interesting or thoughtful question!
- That said-- this is NOT intended to be a low-effort thread. You are expected to look at the profiles of each character you are asking about (at least whatever section describes their relationship or history together), and try to think of a relevant question to their relationship. The only exception is if there really is nothing on the characters' pages to base your question on.
- This is not a NSFW thread. Questions and answers can be a little bit racy, but nothing above PG-13. There are other threads for adult questions.
- This is generally an IC thread, but you can answer OOC if you want to or if you need to say something that the character wouldn't.
- Claim first if you need time to read the character's profile. Please ping the person above you so you make sure that they see your response! If you're not sure how to do this, you simply type @THEIRUSERNAME, and they will be notified! Since Innit believes that his situation is due to Alyss sometimes , does he ever get mad at her or feel some type of way about that ?
He definitely feels...some type of way about it. Alyss literally programmed his brain so he loves her more than anything and can't actually Be that angry at her but. Sometimes he wishes he did hate her. But also he feels bad about that thought. But also he doesn't want to.
Idk he knows his life is objectively better here but he also feels like he doesnt deserve it and rejecting/resenting alyss like that would leave him with nothing at all once everyone else realizes he is unworthy of kindness.
Which he wishes would just hurry up and happen. He doesnt hate alyss but he does hate waiting anxiously for his life to fall apart again.

Innit has like no concept of what a normal sibling relationship looks like lmao. He is mostly ambivalent about her. They live together with their mom currently but don't really spend a lot of time together. (Tbh even when he was caileb they weren't that close, not that he knows it.)(also tbh really considering cutting her out of the story cuz i can't make her fit here thematically,,, shes kinda a major villain in another plot of mine and does die at the end, and i can't really tie that off how i want it in the other plot if i let her have character growth here,,,)

Wick is very open on making sure Gidget is safe, much to the latter's chagrin. Wick can also get flustered when insisting that Gidget needs to stay back or is injured, but Gidget never really picks up on it and just goes " Aight bro ".
How open would Wick be to Gidget about his feeling of needing to look after him (is this less likely to be expressed due to their 'friendly banter', lol) and how would Gidget respond to his effort to do so?

They are on alright-terms but it's awkward and kind of one-sided. Blaine likes... the idea of being a father, and other such masculine roles, but his fascination is surface-level and he is not equipped to handle the reality and responsibilities of parenting; he only got to be 'fun dad' because he wore out his kid's mom to such a degree.
Does his son like him? ...Duke likes his ...style, but is not so fond of Blaine as a person, really.
Does he have custody/live with him? Not currently since Duke is currently an adult. Blaine lived with him and had custody up until his mid teens if i'm understanding correctly how custody works

Uh it's like a desperate stalkerish loser building up the illusion that he has moved on but is indeed still throwing up and crying over someone who is actively avoiding him. They are no longer on speaking terms due to... years of Blaine's immaturity and abuse and then him cheating.

Not really? I mean he feels conflicted about how easy it was to sell his kid, but thats mainly because he's spent so long resenting his own parents for selling him & then turning around and doing the same thing. He has some self loathing but doesnt really want to be a parent, and would never reproduce outside of a situation where he was paid very well for it. And even that he wouldn't do again; he wasn't expecting to regret it the first time.

i've actually been exploring that because the future of their plot involves the unseating of the prince's family from power (and therefore, the end of Aoki's contract). Aoki and the prince end up escaping the palace together during the coup, and the new powers are definitely interested in finding and killing off the last king's heir.
Aoki despite no longer getting paid does not abandon the prince, vaguely justifies it as 'the family might reclaim the throne, i won't turn on them until I know they're 100% fucked'.
But then just never actually abandons the prince because. He doesnt want to. He will not be processing why exactly, because feelings are scary and gross, but he doesn't want to.
They end up wandering the country in disguise as peasants (uncle & nephew if anyone asks). Aoki makes sure the kid is warm and fed and unharmed, but he also definitely laughs at him when he experiences hardships for the first time in his life. The prince is used to being doted on, used to playmates that are drilled to always do what he wants & let him win every game(brown-nosers in training by their brown-nosing parents hoping to get ahead by being close yo the prince). Watching him get his ass kicked at street games with peasant kids after thinking he's hot shit for 12 years is extremely funny to Aoki.
Aoki is really content to let the kid learn his own lessons, and didnt really approve of how he was turning into a miniature version of the king tbh.
Like he definitely doesnt want any kid to have the childhood he had, but he also hates spoiled little brats, so...He's a surprisingly balanced caretaker in some aspects.
But he's abyssmal at emotional guidance, he doesn't even know his own feelings that well, and any advice he gives is gonna be very hindered by his extremely jaded paranoid worldview and inability to be vulnerable with another person. (It has never been a problem before, and its frustrating that he wants to try for the little prince and is so so bad at it. He wants to be comforting but doesn't know how to do that when it doesn't involve physically protecting you from enemies)
Aoki is very relieved when they discover the queen is alive and on the run too & he reunites the kid with his mother. But also it's too late they have bonded & he is Uncle Aoki Forever, noticably soft around this kid to the confused horror of everyone who knew him before their one on one journey.
He would never tell the kid he's his blood father. Not even as last words.

the big one between alderic and kajalmar is cooking/baking ! kaja especially is interested in baking, so a lot of their dates have involved them working together to make delicious meals. that, and sharing recipes between each other !

hes good at it because he bothers to ask clarification if he doesn't get it, not really because of some inherent mind link or something. if shes trying to convey something particularly complex, she'll just draw it, and he's gotten pretty decent at guessing the meanings of those- but that's also because hes familiar with her and knows the context
usually its because of ptsd, not autism, but he's pretty familiar with communicating with mute folks (on, yknow, the battlefields he used to work on), so that helped with getting used to it.

Most of the time it's because Ines disapproves of V acting violently (and/or stupidly) on her behalf and V really never thinks he was in the wrong for it. I think they both think the other is a bit dumb so forgive each other for it LMAO. But then the line in V's profile does come from an underdeveloped drabble where he puts her in the hospital for disrespecting him too seriously, so there's always that !
I have a little plot point where Ines leaves him in a prison for months, but I don't think her conscience would let her abandon him. Unless say, she had to choose between her status and her industry or him - sometimes you have to make sacrifices for your religious calling! V, on the other hand, would definitely sooner kill her than leave her lol
have Ines and V ever fought and if so what about? Does V always go with the flow with Ines or do they have their differences? ALSO are they ride or die or would one of them be willing to leave the other if it came to that point ?

mathias was,,,,very abusive towards alderic, and only saw him as a pawn, so i can't say with full confidence that like. they really "got along". kid was afraid of him growing up, so any decent moments between them had that feeling of fear. mans has gotten along better with snow white, and she's actively trying to kill him.
Was there ever a time where Mathias & him got along before they separated ways?

There was one teacher he honestly disliked the most: Mr. Franklin. He didn’t really help him a lot, and was just overall mean to him during his middle school year. But, he does have a few favorites: Mr. Aaron, Mr. Josiah, and Mr. James. Aaron was his English teacher, Josiah was his History teacher, and James was his Engineering/Science teacher!
