AKA The Beach Episode: TH Edition

Since it's almost summer, why not get a summer-y forum game going?

Your two characters are at the beach! What do they do together?

Perhaps an epic water fight? Some intense volleyball? Sand-castle making? Or just some drinks and relaxing on the shore? The possibilities are endless!

Rules:

1) Please wait at least until 2 people have posted in between you before posting again, or until 12 hours have passed. Whichever comes first.

2) Make sure to post IC so people know who to respond to!

3) Keep it PG-13. Remember there's probably going to be kiddos on this beach!

Avala-Ne Hibernis galaxycreations

Avala knew it'd be hot today and after nailing the terrifying speech what better way than to reward oneself then the beach.

It was pretty packed. A young woman stormed along the waves just as they also were entering the water. He'd ask if she was okay seeing as she looked bothered but that wasn't his business. Nope, he was already hot he didn't want to bother her.
He simply just trotted around in the water occasionally making the water a little cooler a small cloud forming above his head made by magic to keep the sun off them.

Alcott Northwind PicklePantry

Alcott didn't often go to the beach; he hated cleaning off the sand from his clothes, and it was even worse with his wings. But summer was almost ending so he had to make the best of it. Besides, sometimes grilling out near the beach was enjoyable. He flipped a few burgers on the grills and glanced over to see his son a ways away playing with his friends (save the short friend that kept trying to get close enough to stare at him without interruptions). Glancing over, Alcott noticed a man nearby. He didn't have anyone around and didn't look human either, but didn't look harmful.
"You alone?" the teacher grunted. He motioned to the grill. "I'm cooking some food. You're free to grab a bite if you want, I usually buy too much meat and I don't really want to take a lot home."

Barnacle Barnaby Joey-D-yvern

Barnaby watched the beach goers from the shallow waters. one in particular caught its attention, a dark humanoid with a hole in its chest. Dead? Not dead, how? Everyone at the beach was having so much fun, except for him. heck, he didn't even have proper beach attire on. Barnaby felt a tap on its glass, a local stood with a bowl of porridge. Barnaby set the bowl on the shore before resuming its watch.

you seem unhappy, do you dislike the beach?

the man he had been watching suddenly glanced about. oh, right not everyone was used to receiving a message from it.

here, by the lady in blue, in the water.

the man glanced over with disinterest before looking away. The skull in Barnaby's helmet rotated as it started to walk over to the man.

the beach is for fun, not buisness, both if you are a marine biologist.

Dudley Crabgrass PicklePantry

"I. Love. The beach!!!" Dudley practically shouted to the whole world as he ran around the soft sand, kicking some up with every step. He stopped each and every time he found a crab scuttling by, picking it up happily... and hurling it straight back into the ocean.
"Go bully some other crab, jerks," he muttered under his breath as he saw the satisfying splash from a distance.
After a while, he noticed someone ways away and wandered towards them. Dudley tilted his head curiously as he gazed down at the critter. "Are you a human?" he asked, leaning over to rest his hands on his knees and get closer to Barnaby. He'd never seen a human like that, especially with a weird face like that. It smelled like the sea, and had barnacles on it! But it wasn't responding, let alone reacting to his presence. Dudley scratched the side of his head then shrugged, deciding to continue about his day grabbing crabs and throwing them into the water.

Zinkur Esterofila

Zinkur. Hated. The beach.

She was allergic to freakin' water, who wouldn't hate the beach when you couldn't even swim in it?

Zinkur sighed, pushing her exposed- and rather birdlike- toes in between the sand. At least it's warm, I suppose.

And OF COURSE, she would get stuck with the most water-loving beach goer ever. Dudley.

She didn't even know how she got intertwined with him in the first place. Maybe all that shapeshifting piqued her interest in him. Stupid mating impulses...

Dudley frolicked around in the water like the happiest boy on earth. He smiled and laughed and got sand in his mouth.

Zinkur stayed in the very welcome shade of an umbrella, curling her tail around herself and hissing at any wave that dared come near her.

After hours of watching this magical human play in the water, she found herself dozing off in the intense earth heat. She was almost asleep when a pair of soft hands grabbed her own and pulled her up.

"What do you think you're doing?!", she demanded pulling her hands away and shaking them, as if they had gotten dirty. "Humans are so pushy!"

Dudley laughed. "The sun is setting, and I want you to witness it!"

Zinkur scoffed. "I've seen your hideous earth-sun set a hundred times! It's not even anything special."

"Tsundere...", Dudley mumbled under his breath. "At least enjoy it with me?

Zinkur sighed a dramatic sigh and allowed the human to lead her to a nice sandy cliff, you could say. They sat down together and watch the earth sun go down, declaring night for humans and aliens everywhere.

--------------------------

".... Very well, you may use your human sun-paste on my perfect body, but don't go near anywhere you're not supposed to.", she warned, lying down on her stomach and mumbling curses in her native tongue.

Zaleos muwi

"I don't even like the beach," Zinkur mumbled. For some reason, the two of them were by the beachside, crystal waves were before their very eyes, but only one of them was particularly interested.

"I haven't been to the ocean in ages! I mean, it's okay if you can't get in the water, we can just play on the beach." For a pretty old angel, he sure seemed to act like a child. He wondered what she thought of him, seeing as she didn't like pretty women (or at least 'prettier' than her), and Zaleos was... well, he used to be a celestial being, after all.

"You know, our feet match." Zaleos pointed at her feet. They were sitting down, but he still had to look up to speak to her, since she was many heads taller than him. He had to admit that this irked him a little, it was hard to impress a woman who was much taller than him.

"What?" came the reply. Indeed, they had very bird-like feet. Zinkur was a strange person, it was what caught his attention. And the fact that both of them seemed to revel in the attention they were giving each other, even if they denied it. "What has that got to do with anything?"

"Nothing, just a comment. Hey, you're comfortable with me, right? Can I put sunscreen on you? You can do me, too! Uh, do your own feet though, I ain't touching that."

Reffup CherryRoll

"Oh hello, mr. Seraphim" Reffup lightly smiles and waves, "So you like it here at the beach? I like the beach... There's so many pretty shells to collect, fishes and..." she starts having a second thought and makes a frightened expression "WEHHHH?!?! Wait a second! Don't tell me you're here to go fishing or something!!!" Reffup takes a step back, waving her hands side to side, shaking her head, while crying "P-Please don't eat me! Pufferfish doesn't even taste that great! I swear!!!" Reffup runs away in panic and dashes into the water.

Jey Walker PicklePantry

Jey laughed heartily as he played with his family at the beach. He was lightly tossing an inflatable ball into the air for his grandkids to bump back up until one of them hit it hard enough to launch it far away.
"I'll get it," Jey told his daughter and hurried off in the ball's direction. By the time he got there he was already panting. Running was already a chore for him at his age, but in the sand? After a moment of catching his breath, he picked the ball up before noticing the timid woman besides him. "Ho ho ho! I'm sorry, did this scare you? My grandson can pack quite the punch when he gets the energy," he laughed. He noticed that nobody seemed to be around her. Was she okay being all alone?
"Are you by yourself?" he asked before gesturing towards his family. "Why don't you join us? We could always use more players, ho ho!"

Paisley Triachi

Paisely never had an opportunity to see the sea before. And he probably wouldn't if Lyra hadn't dragged him there, muttering about a tan being the nessecity to blend in under those circumstances. Paisley hated summer, he truly did, but the paper bag full of apple pastries he received from his mentor was a highlight of the day. Even if it was probably supposed to shut him up and allow Lyra to sunbathe in peace.

Paisley was bored. He was sitting beside Lyra for a while now, but she was reading one of the newspapers she bought. So there was no chance of starting a conversation. But as soon as he turned his attention at what was happening around him he spotted a young bunny who sat just beside the sea, in the patch of shells and tiny stones. He seemed to be building something.
He kept to himself, staying away from the largest crowds. The construction the bunny was creating was a work of art. Built of sand, but sturdy enough to withstand it's own weight, which had to be rather impressive considering the size of the object. It had towers with small sticks on the roofs of and tiny widows made of shells. Speaking of shells, the bunny was visibly trying to find some new ones in the patch of sand beside him.

Paisley didn't want to just sit beside Lyra, who started to read another magazine and doubted if he would be able to even start building such a beautiful.... sculpture, for a lack of different words at hand.
The star approached the young man who after finding some more shells, started to arrange them around the roofs of the towers.
"Hello! Do you think I could help you?" Paisley sat beside him and then offered "I have apple pastries, would you like one?"

 Marine Opossun

A wave of dispair washed over poor Marine who although was some kind of merman, was scared than ever of the sea. He honestly didn't knew where to go, and with the flow of the sea, Marine was thrown into a beach. He came out of the water crawling and in panic, having some trouble breathing on land. Was he alone? Marine looked around with hope that he could find something or someone to help him out of the situation he was in. A good start would be finding out where was he, and if people there even knew what he was and what language he spoke.

Looking around, Marine managed to catch a sight of someone he didn't really know and honestly didn't had time to judge if the person was dangerous or not. For his luck, Paisley seemed like a good enough person! Kind, offering him help, and some pastries. Seeing Paisley was the biggest relief Marine had in years. A good person and pastry were the two biggest favorite things on Marine's book.

"T...Thank you so much I... I hope it's ok...uh... I'm sorry I got lost on the sea and ended up here. Uh... I'm marine. It's really nice to meet you, you are very kind"

Marine smiled at the lovely star, and then looked around of the beach. The place who at first looked like a scary and dangerou area now looked like a calming sight. Everything was better and Marine was feeling like a fool for showing up so desperate in front of Paisley.

Father Priest PicklePantry

"DAEMON!!!"
Father Priest huffed and huffed as he stood atop a sandy hill, his robes still stubbornly on. Ever since he overheard children during Sunday School mutter about a monster in the water the priest had been visiting often to see if the rumors were true. Was it possible that this was a demon straight out of Hell trying to lure people in? Sure enough he saw something in the water, something inhumane. Determined to save the waters before the church's bi-annual beach trip, Father Priest trudged over early in the morning to finally confront Marine.
"Ye say you are a daemon but that be one letter away from DEMON!" he snarled as he stormed towards Marine. The chimera, sensitive to the yelling, quickly burst into tears and sobbed in front of him. Father Priest hesitated and slowed in his step. Once he was close enough he held up a gentle hand. "Aye, aye, just be calm now, laddie," he insisted. He slowly moved his hands... and pulled a spray bottle out from inside his robe (the movement caused them to move just enough to show the slightest instance of swim trunks with tiny bibles in the design). "BE CALM AND LEAVE THESE WATERS!!" he screeched and aggressively sprayed Marine.

Finch ChickieDee

Why did people like the beach again? The thought crossed Finch's mind as they limply raised a hand to shield their eyes from the sun. What good was a place like this if it wasn't a good place to sleep? Even laying out on their quilt, it was too hot, too sandy, too loud to take a proper nap. Seriously, what was all that screeching...?!

They flopped their head to the side, eyes landing on the...honestly sorta humorous scene. Of course, the daemon crying wasn't exactly funny, but...did that priest dude just whip out a damned squirt bottle? That was some straight-up comedy gold right there. There was a moment of temptation to just sit back and see where the situation played out, but this guy was just too loud to let this go on any longer.

With a sigh, they got up and walked over behind the Scot, tapping on his shoulder until he turned around. "Hey, listen, you do whatever you do, but do you mind turning down the volume just a little bi--" They could swear their ear drums burst in that moment as the assault on the senses was flipped onto them instead, each "HEATHEN" and "DEMON" punctuated by a squirt right to the face.

Really should've seen that one coming.

They stood there in silence, waiting until the bottle had run out of that holy stuff, water dripping down from their mask. They patted themselves off with their quilt before returning to giving Father Priest a blank stare. "...You done there, buddy? Aight, so turn the volume down, yeah? Nice. Thanks." They started to walk away back to their spot to try and nap once more, but not before turning back to look back at him. "Oh, by the way, nice trunks, dude. Cute crosses."

Leo lophiusdragon

Leo was not much of a fan of this beach.

It was hot and there was sand all over his fur.

Until he found some crabs to chase and pounce at.

Then he saw Finch.  He thought this was a strange human, with a mask.

"HELLO! Rawr..."

Leo play-bowed like a dog as if he found a new best friend.
