General Thread for PSAs

Hello!

8/9: New PSA added.

5/14: 2 new PSAs added.

4/8: New PSA posted and additional information on Squidribs added to relevant PSA.

It was suggested that there should perhaps be a general thread for PSAs which is a fine idea. A place that links to other PSAs and keep things organized.
You can link your threads/PSAs/etc, and I'll add them to the posts. :D
Please Note: I can only accept public PSAs. Anon PSAs are too much of a risk to accept, as they can be open to slander.

Things That Count for PSAs!
-Scams
-Illegally chargebacked (you did a commission, but person claims you never did, for instance)
-Being shifty on doing owed things (taking months on an icon for example, lack of contact or updates, etc)
-Tracing and profiting off of it...
-Etc...

Things That Don't Count!
-Someone has better art than you
-Rude behavior
-Subjective issues
-Dog ate your homework

Obviously, this is just the basic frame work. Each case is different. For instance, someone could go around harassing artists for art and customs, or for people to give up their adopts and whatnot, and that could almost certainly be considered for a PSA...

Of course, it would be great if no more PSAs occur, but in the case they do, I support people posting them because they keep the community safe and will link to them in this general thread. owo/

There'll be two posts, one for PSAs and one for resolved cases! ^^

So...I need some advice.

So, I order a piece a year ago come feburary from someone offsite. About may I managed to get a WIP after some hassle(I had to explain what a WIP was.). The WIP was less than impressive considering the wait. About a month(could have been the same day, I gotta check) later I was told that they would be done by august.

I heard nothing until a couple weeks ago. I do plan on asking for another WIP because I have no idea how close to done they are.

If they don't respond or there is no progress, what should I do?

Luckily I hadn't paid yet and it was in game currency(Ovipets credits). I tend to avoid commissioning those who do upfront payment unless I've heard only good things about their work ethics since my first introduction to commissions was kinda not a good one(Long story on that one and kinda irrelevant to the situation).

I do plan not to commission them again. i've actually had someone do this to me before(but that one I feel is canceled because that person basically dropped off the face of the planet?)

Edit: Just found the WIP and it looks like they...somehow switched two of my characters' hairstyle?

I'mma see if they'll respond. And if they don't or they just haven't made progress, I'mma cancel.

Ye that be my plan. Not even sure how they managed because the two characters have greatly differing hair lengths.

Thanl you for the help! Guess mostly what I need was help getting my thoughts together.

Should I make a beware on someone even though it's only been like 2 weeks and they haven't gotten back to me about an art trade?

I am starting to grow impatient. As you all recommended I did message this person three days ago, asking for them to send the character over and if they wanted more art. They’re online but haven’t opened the message; they literally JUST uploaded more art. >:/

SoraDeathEater

Tone I agree with the rest x.x and tbh I kinda want to know the user since I sometimes do art trades for ocs.. so I wouldn’t want to deal with someone like that ;u;

FrankensteinLabs

I'll try to give more leeway, as I do not want to perhaps misunderstand the situation - I'm a pushover, I know - But I appreciate yall's feedback!! In two more days hopefully they will be well enough to respond? (I assume maybe they are sick, but haven't posted about being sick, I am unsure...)

FrankensteinLabs

Lotor I PMed you!!

And if we are being honest here- i do wish to give them the benefit of the doubt, and I am really afraid and worried of making any PSA....
