General Thread for PSAs

Hello!

8/9: New PSA added.

5/14: 2 new PSAs added.

4/8: New PSA posted and additional information on Squidribs added to relevant PSA.

It was suggested that there should perhaps be a general thread for PSAs which is a fine idea. A place that links to other PSAs and keep things organized.
You can link your threads/PSAs/etc, and I'll add them to the posts. :D
Please Note: I can only accept public PSAs. Anon PSAs are too much of a risk to accept, as they can be open to slander.

Things That Count for PSAs!
-Scams
-Illegally chargebacked (you did a commission, but person claims you never did, for instance)
-Being shifty on doing owed things (taking months on an icon for example, lack of contact or updates, etc)
-Tracing and profiting off of it...
-Etc...

Things That Don't Count!
-Someone has better art than you
-Rude behavior
-Subjective issues
-Dog ate your homework

Obviously, this is just the basic frame work. Each case is different. For instance, someone could go around harassing artists for art and customs, or for people to give up their adopts and whatnot, and that could almost certainly be considered for a PSA...

Of course, it would be great if no more PSAs occur, but in the case they do, I support people posting them because they keep the community safe and will link to them in this general thread. owo/

There'll be two posts, one for PSAs and one for resolved cases! ^^

Thank you all for the advice!! I went ahead with sending them a final message, and if the ref isnt complete in another week I'll go through with the chargeback. I still have a bit of faith that they'll come through and complete it, but regardless I just want the situation resolved for good. I'll update if anything changes!!

Giving them a week is too generous for making you wait for almost 3 months. I'd definitely say be more firm and give them around 24 - 48 hrs to respond, if they refuse to, then file that dispute/chargeback

Sourdoe could i inquire about this situation more? last year i was caught in a huge scam conducted across multiple platforms by an incredibly crafty user that targeted so many artists (and scammed a lot of usd) that me and two others were legitimately contemplating legal action. (i lost over $200 cash and the other 2 with me were artists, in total there were at least 20 victims due to it being presented as an art contest). theyre a chronic scammer who has been at this for years as we were able to figure out thru extensive research, and when we compiled our proof and they got banned their parting shot was actually "ill just find one of the 1000s of other sites with dumb suckers to start up on" and mocked us.. yeah. im a little wary now o:

i can link the proofs thread i mentioned if anyone is curious, but its off-site.

I'm worried you may be right, but I wanted to give them some time in case they legitimately still had work to do on the commission. If the message goes unopened again, I may follow your advice and move forward with the chargeback sooner, but I'll play it by ear for now ^^

Ah, I get it. Hope the artist responds to you so you can resolve this.

Tearyia yes it is and there are many PSA of this nature on here, as long as you have evidence of it I would definitely make a PSA

To provide an update on my situation, the artist did respond to my message threatening a chargeback, however, the response itself was only two words: "that's fine." For context, the message I sent was thorough and explained that I intended to chargeback if I didnt see progress, so to me this response was a childish way of telling me to go ahead with it because they couldn't be bothered.

That being said, I disputed the payment and from here we'll see if I can get my money back. I'm incredibley disappointed to have my time wasted like this, especially because I gave this artist plenty of chances to work with me. It's honestly the most frustrating exchange I've had in a while |D

P0CKETKNIFE On Artists Beware, they have this category of posts called "cautions" where the transaction was completed and strictly speaking the business is concluded/the money was refunded or the chargeback is completed, but the experience was so horrible or significantly difficult that the case warrants a caution regardless. I think yours sounds of this category and I wouldn't mind seeing it not as a PSA, but merely as a "Caution: Artist/Buyer" post. Alternatively, please PM me this artist's name if it's not too much trouble so I can avoid doing business with them in the future!
