General Thread for PSAs

Hello!

8/9: New PSA added.

5/14: 2 new PSAs added.

4/8: New PSA posted and additional information on Squidribs added to relevant PSA.

It was suggested that there should perhaps be a general thread for PSAs which is a fine idea. A place that links to other PSAs and keep things organized.
You can link your threads/PSAs/etc, and I'll add them to the posts. :D
Please Note: I can only accept public PSAs. Anon PSAs are too much of a risk to accept, as they can be open to slander.

Things That Count for PSAs!
-Scams
-Illegally chargebacked (you did a commission, but person claims you never did, for instance)
-Being shifty on doing owed things (taking months on an icon for example, lack of contact or updates, etc)
-Tracing and profiting off of it...
-Etc...

Things That Don't Count!
-Someone has better art than you
-Rude behavior
-Subjective issues
-Dog ate your homework

Obviously, this is just the basic frame work. Each case is different. For instance, someone could go around harassing artists for art and customs, or for people to give up their adopts and whatnot, and that could almost certainly be considered for a PSA...

Of course, it would be great if no more PSAs occur, but in the case they do, I support people posting them because they keep the community safe and will link to them in this general thread. owo/

There'll be two posts, one for PSAs and one for resolved cases! ^^

Here is another PSA! http://toyhou.se/~forums/5867.service-reviews/44868.psa-redheat-5355-pleb-tierartist-not-pay-

RyverWren I'd say no to that as well, if it's actually resolved and the person has corrected their behavior since

Is there any way we can have a thread to kind of notify people of users who are turnaround traders?
As in people who will trade with you to IMMEDIATELY put the design they received back in a trade folder.
In particular I am talking about people who are notorious for doing this repeatedly and frequently.

There is a difference between regretting a spur of the moment trade and wanting to trade off the new design but this being a rare occurrence for you vs someone who intentionally is trading on a frequent basis to continue to just feed their trade folder with no effort to connect to the new designs. Literally just turnaround trading. I am talking about these people, the repeat turnaround traders.

I'm not wanting to bash these people and what they do, not by any means. I'm not wanting a call out thread to be hateful to them.
But just as a means to notify people of these traders so you know what you're dealing with if you choose to trade with them.
A lot of us who trade our designs are hoping to place them in forever homes or trade to people who will actually try to connect to them.
There is nothing more disheartening than to trade one of your own designs to a turnaround trader who is trying to abuse it to trade upward.
Especially if they lied and said that they 'absolutely loved' the design and such things to persuade you to trade it to them.

I'm unsure if I should be posting a PSA just yet, but it's starting to get to a point where I'm concerned, so I'll post the facts, but leave out any usernames for the time being to get opinions on whether or not I should gather more testimonials and post an actual PSA.

I ordered a YCH months ago, paid upfront and gave the user my characters images to reference. Note that the characters have very simple and easily understandable designs.  I did not get any response after the payment was sent (despite the user being active) until over a month later, when they send me a "finished product" that was messily done, very poorly made with very obvious errors that made parts look like a child's coloring book, and the markings were wrong.

I responded asking if they could please fix the errors, and I got no response.  I poked them and they responded with "What mail?".  For almost two months more, I've had to occasionally poke them for updates, of which there were none, and copious excuses as far as why it hadn't been done (but plenty of other things had been). Finally when I got fed up and asked about a refund, they responded quite quickly with another poorly made piece which was obviously rushed and still incorrect. I asked for more fixes or a refund and haven't heard back. That was a week and a half ago, and once again, still active.

Aside from my personal experience, it seems like other people are having the same problem, and the user in question is taking on more and more commissions and YCH and I'm afraid the people commissioning them will suffer the same fate.

Is this something I should be making a PSA of? I feel bad for doing so, because I just want this to be resolved professionally and with dignity, but after doing a LOT of digging, it turns out this user has had problems before and admits they were under a different username and are trying to get better...

Edit: I think I might have to do a PSA. If anyone could help me with figuring all this out. I've never had to make one before and I don't know what all I need or how to format the PSA.

SquidsInTheAttic

I just wanted to post a quick PSA about Pythia here on toyhouse.  I did an art trade with them a few months back, finished and posted them my half of the trade, but have never heard back from them.  They have opened the initial mail for my side of the trade so I know they received it, but they have completely failed to reply to any of my notes afterward.  I can see that they've been active on TH from their stats page, but they have completely failed to communicate with me.  The last note I send was a month ago with still no reply.

I just wanted to put out a general warning as I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

SquidsInTheAttic you may wanna add some evidence, like screenshots!

I have a question, me and a few friends run a character-based discord server. We had someone who came in and stayed with us for the better part of a year. She would consistently post images about her 'characters'. It wasn't until a month or two ago where we found that each and every one of said characters was stolen directly from other people. Some she just stole art from, others she ripped entire sets of references, bios, even writing and stories, telling us that she wrote them and owned the characters. She had a habit of 'forgetting' to credit artists, which we had warned her about on previous occasions, but we hadn't imagined it was this much. I have screenshots of her claiming the characters as her own and and extensive evidence considering we kept all the logs in our discord. We have examples of her ripping art and writing from the actual owners, as well as the sources for each character.

Would it be appropriate to post a PSA in the service reviews forum? As I know for a fact that we were not the only character discord she was in, I want to make people aware that she does indeed have a habit of stealing characters and art from people, and to be wary if she posts anything that seems suspicious. I'm sure there are people that want to know, but I'm not sure if here would be the place considering she wasn't trying to make a profit off the characters. Thanks in advance for any help!

i'm not op but i think you should go ahead and make a psa; theft is a serious concern and worthy of having people warned about you.
