V Rising Letters : Pigeons

[ A sickly pigeon makes its way through the open windows of the estate, flying towards the direction of the mountains. The writer'd own face stricken with sorrow, and cheeks dampened with tears. ]

To The Matron of My Namesake,

 I can see why your tongue was twisted in speaking of the people of this land. Even if you say the earth here is poisoned, it seems even in my short time under your former lord has left an impression. Just my name alone, people mistake me for you. I wonder, what kind of person you were before. I wonder if things would have been different then, if I would be here now. I am ever thankful for your kindness done to me. The books you have handed to me, the recordings of the people you've met, they speak of you as if you were friends. Yet you claim how alone you felt. I do hope that in these pages you have given me, the answer lays. 

I fear that I do not know the full weight of the promise I made to you. I wish not to disappoint. 

I pray this finds you safely.
