V Rising Letters : Pigeons

[A pigeon makes its way high into the sky above the land, viewing the many castles and keeps before flying away to its destination...]

Dearest Setsuna,  

  I understand now. I have grasped the importance of your position. No matter what pushes you aside, or what struggles you endure, you had to keep your footing, not just for the grace of your lord, but yourself and for your own dream. I have yet to see the young children of Rose and Molly, but I do hope in their presence I will understand and appreciate life as you once did. I wonder of a child of two mothers. Regardless, I believe I now have begun to be enlightened on what it means to be the adhesive between these places. From the lord to his people, and that which holds the lands together. Even if I strive to abandon these lands, I know what my duty is, even if my heart lay elsewhere. 

Your kin of Invictus still speak of you in great regards. I hope that I have at least begun paying the debt you feel owed. I will make any, and all sacrifices to ensure those that had welcomed you, are just as cared for as you once were.

As for the woman with the name of an angel, and formerly walked the life I do now. I understand why it was she you took a liking to. How strange that things interconnect. I do know that her favorite color is red, or at least a ruby should you prepare a gift for that day. I fear however than your betrothal steed no longer lives, as such is the fate of things a century ago. Within the next sheet you will find my scribblings of her measurements, should you decide to prepare her dress far before her arrival.

I pray this letter reaches you in good health. I do hope all is well, and that you have found something to keep you going on the path. I will see to it that your duty is complete.

I will take your place in serving this lord until his death, or mine own.
