Many parts of this were uncomfortable to read (as intended I imagine). A lot of it reminds me of the conversations they have about the conscription here.
I spent a while trying to figure out which of the people there was Aiden until the bit where the narration mentioned his height.
And you're going to get more in the next chapters  Â
Yeah... The original of this I had sitting around in my drafts for a couple years was a little more cartoonishly misogynistic, so I'm glad to you it felt like it had some sort of basis in reality. I'm excited to work out some of the more awkwardly written parts in later chapters! :D
