Day 8 Main Prompts.

Sky prompt : Day 8

As he waited for the translation to be completed Everest held no inkling of clues as to where it's contents would lead him. When the princess had returned the scroll she had held a strange expression. One he supposed now made sense. At first the crowds were a mixture of outrage and confusion. A few from the air convinced that the sea wrongly blamed the apprentice, and only wanted to cause problems between the cities once more. That apparently the approach of the titan wasn't enough choas and destruction for one lifetime. Taking care to separate any fights or arguements that arose from the information, not having time to properly process the information himself. As the leaders of each group discussed it was decided that a group of guards and heros would be sent out to find where the she-cat had escaped to. Everyone warned to be on high alert for any fluctuation or spikes of strange magic in the area. That is where Everest finds himself now. Standing with the small group as they and others bid farewell to those staying in camp. The approach of the titan still inching ever closer.

The goodbyes shared with cubs felt strange. As if he was truly never going to see them again. For if the mage wished to attack them what defense would they have? The hyena lacking any skills in the magic department himself. Yet as he faced Cath there was a small but of hope that still burned. She looked as if she were holding back tears, not wanting to frighten her children who only seemed disappointed that they could not join, not understanding the danger that lay ahead. Both of them sharing a nod of understanding as they silently promised to do their best for the cubs, and that if one of them were not to return to know they didn't not fall without a fight.

The journey with the group was a tense and silent one. And air of dread weighing down the mood of everyone involved. The plan was to find her location and report back. No one was to engage unless absolutely necessary, or in the instance that an attack was absolutely required. If the cat were to threaten an advanced attack of the titan it was their job to stop or delay her long enough for backup to arrive. A designated few amongst the group being the fastest sprinters of the recruits. Everest himself sharing the information and theory he had learned. That the she-cats power was held mainly within her wand, and if they could succeed in destroying or confiscating the item it would be possible to bring her down to the level of mortals. The silence giving Everest time to think about his new situation.

He had been trained and suffered through life because he was supposed  to fight the titan only for the enemy to change days before the fated battle. He felt lost in a way. His entire way of life yanked out from under him with a slap of reality on the side. Hade the prophecy been wrong, or had it been translated wrong? The ones who learned of it first only assuming that the greater evil was the titan that now only seemed to be a product of someone else's greed. If so was he even still a hero as foretold? How much of his life has been lead by lies and mistakes of others? A battle he had almost been ready for. One he had finally accepted was no longer as such, and thinking about fighting who appeared to be nothing more than a young cat tore him. He was knowledgable in understanding she was not as old as she had appeared, yet his heart still ached for the charade. If only he could have seen his fathers face when the truth of the situation was revealed. Was he among those that denied the scrolls knowing? Everest could see him denying it...

The group had been tracking her for awhile now. Gathered from a few who thought they seen her last leading them off into the unknown. They were indeed following someone but even they couldn't know if it was who they were looking for to be entirely honest. Those who began the journey with anger fueling them had at last seemed to simmer down. No longer looking as if they would be down to attack anyone at the other end of the trail. A few holding hushed conversations as the day dragged on. It wasn't until the fox in the lead stopped and raised his paw sharply did the silence claim them once more. Ahead was the sound of movement and hushed mutterings, but they were still too far to make out anything the stranger was saying. Without a proper visual they did not know if they could send back the runners or if they had simply come across someone who just lived out here. This was when Everest chose his task for them. Inching around and forward so if he is spotted the she-cat would not know where the others hid.
