Breeding Rules

The best way to get more of our sweet little devils is to couple two of them together. This page includes of a list of breeding rules (which must be followed to procure a pedigree), as well as some optional rules you can use to make it a little more fun.

Breeding Rules

✦Breeding is unregulated! Newborns are not automatically registered pedigrees.
 {Follow the guidelines in "Registering Characters" to register new babies with the staff. }
✦ Babies born not using the breeding rules cannot be registered.
✦ Breed proof pictures are not required at the moment, but feel free to make one.
{ Keep these SFW if you make one }
✦ If breeding with another user, you must have permission from them.
✦ To prove you've gotten permission, have the other user comment on the character you are breeding with:
"I give (username) permission to breed (character 1's name) with (character 2's name)"
✦ Each of your characters may only breed once a month.
✦ Demons only birth 1 to 2 per pregnancy.
{ If breeding with another user you may have 2 children, one for each user, unless only 1 child is desired.
If breeding alone or with an NPC breeder there is a 10% chance of twins. Ask to have this rolled by a staff member }

✦ You must make use of punnett squares, but you are allowed to decide which genes win.
{ You may roll a die, use a RNG, or flip a coin if you want, just for fun! }
✦ Offspring must be created consensually.
✦ Offspring must not be a result of incest.
{ Cousins are okay }

On "NPC" Breeders

You will hear the term "NPC breeders." These characters aren't necessarily "non-playable," nor open for everyone's use, however...

- NPC breeders are designed by admins to co-breed with other NPC breeders to produce official offspring for sale and/or freebies.
So a character like King would breed for personal use, an NPC breeder like Beauregard will 95% of the time breed to create children for other players.

- These characters can breed with player characters, but they follow the same breeding guidelines, including a limit to one session per month.

- These characters' breeding schedules are up to the owner, of course. You'd still need my permission to breed your character with Beauregard, for example.
A breeder could take a player character in August, I could decide it doesn't breed in September, then open it again in October.

- NPC breeders are good for introducing genes into your gene pool, but if you want to make sure you get to breed with them before someone else,
you'd better check their last breeding session and then contact the owner asap.

View the NPC Breeders in their character folder.

Optional Probability Rules

Roll for eye color! Say parent 1's eyes are heads and parent 2's are tails.
Or roll a 4 sided die; give a 25% chance (1/4) of mutation. 1 or 2= parent 1's eyes, 3 = parent 2, 4 = mutation/mixing.

If your character has a gene that gives socks (like gradient or the splashed gene),
roll to see how many limbs (tail counts) obtain socks! Get even wilder and roll to see how many toes are colored.

If your character has ticking or basically any pattern that can be small/large,
roll to see how much of and how big the pattern is.

If your character is, for example, blue, roll to see if the shade of blue
is cool leaning or warm leaning. As long as its still blue!

If your character has any stripes, roll to see how many they have.
take into account the amount the parents have too, if any are visible.
If parent one has 3 and parent two has 6, set the limits to 2-8 stripes, then let the die decide.
