Basics
- Magic is present in all evines; the type of magic is based on the colors of the evine's threads.
- An evine may have any combination of up to three colors in their threads (they may also have a single color).
- Multiple thread colors does not make for stronger magic, it only changes the nature of the magic an evine has.
- Thread colors and combinations are limited to the colors listed on this page.
- All evines must have at least one primary magical ability, but may also have up to three secondary magical abilities. Secondary abilities are completely optional.
- Evine magic which directly impacts other evines is limited by a distance of 6 feet, which is the maximum distance at which two evines threads will typically cross.
Primary & Secondary Abilities
Primary abilities are the strongest type of magic available to an evine. Primary abilities are typically a combination of all of an evine's thread colors, but do not have to be. The actual strength of a primary ability is determined by the amount of training and natural talent an evine has with that ability; this is left to the discretion of the evine's owner and/or creator.
If a primary ability is the strongest form of magic available, secondary abilities are the weakest form of magic available. Almost any ability can be primary or secondary, but the strength of the ability must be taken into account to determine if the ability is primary or secondary. Below some examples are listed are reference.
"Primary" and "Secondary" only apply to the magical abilities themselves, not to the character's threads. Eg. An evine doesn't have "primary" and "secondary" threads - they only have "primary" and "secondary" abilities.
