Purple Light Districts

Purple Light Districts are probably the most coveted amongst Hobeckians, but one of the least frequent. This is because each Purple Light District is controlled by a particular gang. Independent Districts are usually shut down very quickly, and often in a violent manner by the thugs who ‘own’ the territory. There’s usually at least a few in one area, but they’re always toward the centre of a gang’s domain, so depending on your location it may take a long trek to reach one.

Purple lanterns are used as they’re less glaring to the eye as some of the other colours, attracting less attention. They’re known to be one of the most dangerous Districts, as some drugs sold can make people violent toward one another. More importantly, though, they’re often the sites for full-on gang wars where one tries to usurp the other. Both customers and workers are always on high alert, as one suspicious movement could spark violence.

Purple Light Districts often have close relationships with Green Light Districts, as they need to hire bodyguards for protection. Another job that’s become increasing common is distributing and delivering, since Purple Light Districts have received a reputation for their danger. Most people don’t want to venture into one, and so those who have enough money will typically try to order it and collect it somewhere else. This is especially true of people in Eden, who often crave the party and drug scene that Hobeck can provide but don’t want to venture into its dangerous streets.
