Every gem variant that exists nowadays must have been developed in some way. Onyx was part of a new gem species project that was trying to manufacture low production cost era 2 gems. In order to save valuable resources, but not sacrifice body size and strength, all onyxes were meant to be emotionally numb, with little to no free will.

Due to-... UNSPOKEN... circumstances, the project was cancelled and no information about it was released to the public. All workers involved in the research have been taken care of. The prime head leading this project was [DATA NOT FOUND]. One perfect cut example was sent to my facility. Reasoning: It knows too much. Plus, I like limited time collectibles~

Turns out the subject is not as stupid and emotionless as previously thought. Probably a side effect of her perfect cutting. That said, Onyx does not seem interested in any kind of hobbies, relationships, culture, art, etc. Despite this, we decided to order a custom made clothes for her. We simply could not look at Onyx's hideous form any longer.

Out of pure boredom and curiosity, we decided to assign Onyx with a "pest" control task. Since she is not allowed in public places, I made sure to give her a partner to work with. They seem to get along pretty well. While watching their casual daily interaction, I even started to see another side of Onyx I had no idea about. Of course, I am keeping my eyes on them, especially on Garnet...
