Nadine is the main character of the story Magical Mundanities. When she moves to a new town on the coast to get a fresh start, Nadine meets someone extraordinary, and her life instantly makes a turn for the better.
The main plot/gag of Nadine's story is that she is the only human in the entire town. Every other citizen is some kind of non-human creature; however, every other resident believes themself to be the ONLY non-human in the town. Some of the residents are better at appearing human than others, though everyone begins to be revealed when Nadine's new friend shows up in town and one stubborn harpy is determined to prove that she's a mermaid. (Plot twist- she makes no effort to hide the fact that she is a mermaid. Hijinks ensue.)
Nadine grew up in the big city, surrounded by droves of busy people with nowhere to be. She moved out to the coast in hopes of making some new connections and finding something to do with her life.
She did lots of sports while in the city, most often taking to jogging as it was the most accessible and popular thing to do. She learned how to surf not long before moving, in preparation for spending a lot of time by the sea.
Nadine had a handful of younger siblings, all of whom headed off to college not long after high school. Her parents live out in the country, and tend to only visit for the holidays.
- Nadine has heard tales of a town full of mythical creatures before, but thought it nothing more than fairy tales.
- Nadine met Kairi while surfing- Kairi saved her life after a bad wave knocked Nadine unconscious.
- Nadine was all but invisible back in the city, but feels as though she walks around with a spotlight on her in the new town.
- Nadine prefers to dress in clothes she can move in, but will be fancier for special occasions.

Kairi was the first person Nadine truly got to know in town, and was also the first to meet in their true form. Nadine is eternally grateful for Kairi saving her, and has decided to repay her in constant pampering and cuddles.
Nadine met Oliver while walking Kairi through town, and he has decided to make himself their problem ever since. She thinks it's endearing how hard he tries to show everyone Kairi's marine nature, but everyone has kind of picked up on it already. She'd love to get him to chill out long enough for lunch sometime...
Nadine met Katrina one day out in the public gardens, tending to the plants. The two struck up a conversation and happened to exchange numbers. Nadine hopes to develop their relationship sooner, as long as Kairi is okay with it.
