Ashley is a Theta Floss who works at an office for an accounting firm. She currently lives in the Gamma Clan, which is where her work place is located, and is also an enthusiastic social media influencer. Basically, she’s an Instagram girl who cares for her online rep and enjoys creating the illusion of a glamorous life.
Personality
Ashley is a preppy and flamboyant bitch with a bit of a vain side to her. If many knew her true colors, they’d automatically label her an attention-loving whore. She tends to act all nice and flutter her eyelashes around most of her male peers (or at least the ones that don’t know her that well), but she’s actually pretty foul, manipulative, and likes to take advantage of the Floss that are madly attracted to her.
She’s pretty good at sucking up to her superiors (such as flattering and complimenting them) and is very emotionally intelligent, which helps with her manipulative nature. She likes when things go in her favor, and because of her ability to read other Floss easily, she can usually have events go her way.
She’s pretty self-centered, probably has a superiority complex, and usually cares more about herself and her own needs above others. However, there can be instances where she’s more selfless than usual toward the people that she sees around often, such as her friends and the co-workers that she works alongside with every weekday (who are all aware of her true colors).
Like for example, she knows exactly how everyone in her office takes their coffee and/or snacks and knows all their hobbies, likes, dislikes, and habits. She partially knows all of this so that she can use those little details to her advantage later on, but she also uses them to predict how to make someone feel better if they’re ever feeling distressed over something. She’ll often claim that she only cares because having the people she’s always surrounded by be depressed is bothersome for her, which is sort of true, but it’s not the full truth.
Abilities
As a Theta, Ashley can turn invisible. She can usually do it at will with ease and will mostly use this ability whenever she wants to slip away from an awkward social situation she doesn’t want to deal with.
Sometimes, in the rare occasion that she’s feeling nervous (she’s usually got her act together, so emphasis on rare here), she’ll turn transparent out of anxious habit. Not entirely invisible, but not entirely there either.
Backstory
Ashley Bao was raised in an upper-class household in the Theta Clan. Even so, despite all the wealth and privileges she was given growing up, she wanted to start making a name for herself and paving a path to her own future. Her parents were sort of controlling and expected her to do what they wanted, just like the rest of her siblings, if she was going to live under their roof.
Having had enough of their restrictive expectations, Ashley tried to excel in her academics (or more like she’d woo her male classmates into doing all the homework for her) and was able to graduate high school a year early thanks to her stellar charms, which she had learned to master over the years.
She started studying more on her own once she had enrolled in university in the Theta Clan, since she knew that college wouldn’t be as easy, and she shortly moved to the Gamma Clan after graduating and nailing an online job interview.
Now she currently works as an accountant in an office in the Gamma Clan. Life is mundane as of right now, so she spends her free time gaining followers and attention on social media. She’s a regular selfie taker and an expert on how to capture the best picture in the moment. She’ll also often go out to various cafes and places just to make her life seem more exciting.
Other
Ashley had a summer-long fling with Tobias Matthews. It didn't work out because they just didn't have good chemistry, though the way that she split ways with him was pretty abrupt. Right after dumping him, Ashley started her new job as an accountant... only to realize that she was going to be working alongside Tobias from now on. Of course, she was mortified at first, but eventually they were both able to get over it.
She has really good photographic memory, which is how she’s able to remember so much about her friends and co-workers in the first place. It’s thanks to her great memory that she was able to get her accounting degree.
She can actually be a very efficient worker if she tries hard enough 24/7. However, she doesn’t try 24/7. She’s content with just being average in her work performance since she sees no real reward with being competent in her job. What reward does that bring, besides maybe more money, which she already has plenty of? However, she doesn't take well to being average when it comes to matters regarding her self-image. Things such as her beauty and glamor, for example.
Ashley loves coffee. As a trufflefloss, she just has a bitter palette for food and drinks overall. She especially loves getting a latte with decaf espresso (heated only to 100°) with nonfat milk and chocolate drizzle on the top. Some coffee shops usually can't get that order right though, so she'll just stick to a regular mocha instead if that's the case.
