Reina

Reina is one of the most impulsive people you’ll meet. She’s an act first, think later kind of gal with a bit of an in-your-face attitude. She doesn’t have much of a filter, if at all. It’s very hard to predict what she’s going to do next - even she doesn’t know. Reina is good at winging whatever she’s doing, though, even if planning isn’t her strong suit in the slightest.

However, Reina is an exceptionally good problem solver. She’s very observant and picks up on small details others may not have noticed. Because of this, she’s one of the best people to go to whenever there’s trouble about - with some experimenting, she’ll be able to figure it out the answer to just about any solvable problem. Of course, deadlines are the bane of her existence.

Unfortunately, Reina has a bit of an inferiority complex. Her biological parents are literally the progenitors, how is she supposed to measure up to that? She often loses sight of her goals whenever this feeling overcomes her, and it’s difficult for her to raise her self esteem back to where she’s functional again.

Reina has the philosophy that “if something needs to be done, you have to do it yourself.” She’s been let down too many times by people who say they’re going to do something and then don’t, so she’s had to step in and deal with them. Of course, if it’s a boring task it’s going to be harder to drag up the motivation to do it, but overwhelmingly she trusts herself over everyone else.

Because of this, Reina finds it very difficult to ask for help. She feels like she should be able to do everything herself, even when reality is proving it to be the opposite. It takes a long time for her to accept help, and even then only from a select few people. Reina is intellectually aware that she needs to ask for help, but emotionally she just can’t do it.

Reina was born to Fae and Nebula a handful of years ago. She wasn’t an expected child by any means, although it was a breeding season so perhaps the progenitors weren’t quite paying attention. At the time, Fae and Nebula weren’t in the right mindspace to raise another child, so Fae decided to adopt the child to Juliette and Cassandra who were raising one of her other children and doing a pretty good job of it too.

Her childhood was relatively uneventful. Although she was having trouble doing things, Cassandra and Juliette were able to help her along. When she was eventually diagnosed with ADHD, they were more than supportive.

Reina spent a good portion of her childhood being hyper focused on beauty and fashion. She collected makeup, learned how to do her hair a variety of fancy ways, and could tell you what season’s top fashions were with a moment’s notice.

As she grew older and more powerful, her hyper focus shifted from beauty to magic. There were so many fascinating things she could do, she just had to learn about all of it!

Her power and interest was noticed by Galen, the leader of the Organization, when she successfully (albeit accidentally) duped them and many others into believing it was actually snowing inside the library she was studying at. Fascinated, Galen offered her a place in the Organization. This place didn’t exist until Galen met her, of course.

Unfortunately, due to the Organization’s secrecy, Reina was forced to cut her parents out of her life and hold her siblings at arms’ length. It was best for them if they believed it was because she had gone off the deep end, not because she actually had something to hide.

Reina and Cooper were initially coworkers of a sort. Reina would send reports to him about her research, and he’d file it appropriately. It wasn’t until they met at a holiday party that she realized that a) he was a lesbian and b) she was hopelessly attracted to him.

Thus began a slow romance - Reina wasn’t too keen on being vulnerable at first. However, Cooper was both supportive and stubborn. After a few years, Reina was comfortable enough to rely on him and they moved in together.

Reina and Cooper are now married and are doing a lot of interesting research together. Eventually, Reina wants to reconnect with her family, but that’s not going to be for a good long while.
