Profile

crysym.pngOn the planet of Rixile, there exist ten gods.

The deity of the Ice element, Cryos is a mother figure, said to guide lost souls to the afterlife, guard people as they sleep, and bring good dreams.  Gentle and tolerant, Cryos will welcome anyone into her lands if they can bear the unfortunate weather.  She can get serious if she needs to be, but she prefers dreamy optimism instead.

Like her neighbor Phyll, Cryos wishes simply to be undisturbed, though this never ends up being the case.  Her people have become a target for their passive nature, and they remain the least numerous in all of Rixile today, spread out widely in their comparatively huge territory.  Recently, they resolved a war with Magna Pyra.

Cryos enjoys a strong alliance with Aether, and is friendly with most of the rest of the pantheon.  She doesn't understand the likes of Ignus and Nocturne, but she doesn't hate them.

She hasn't shown herself for centuries, but her people can feel her in the chill of freshly fallen snow, and in the stories and mementos their ancestors left behind.  Her symbol represents a snowflake.

  • In Rixile lore, the element of Ice is considered orderly and temperamental--orderly in that it is reliable and concrete, as ice preserves history inside itself, and temperamental in that the cycles of the planet are regulated by it.
  • The other orderly elements are Light, Wood, Metal, and Earth, while the only other temperamental element is Fire, thus considered Cryos' opposite.

Additional Worldbuilding Information:

Race: IcendsIcend_clothes.png

Being adapted to cold, icends have insulating fat and a fine layer of peach fuzz over their bodies.  With their large eyes, wide noses, and fluffy hair, they can be seen as "cute" by other races.  Despite their unassuming appearance, they're said to have the closest connection to the afterlife of all the races, and have a sensitivity to ghostly activity. The curly horns are dependent on the Y chromosome and made of bone, but can be removed if desired.  The blue stripes under the eyes are present in all icends with very little variation.

Territory: Quartanto

Quartanto has the largest landmass of any territory, though that claim is offset by the fact that a large portion of it is tundra and imposing mountains where only icends choose to live.  Despite this, many races have muscled in on Quartanto, both past and present.  After all, its location is prime for spying on their powerful neighbor Aervrin.

Sanctuary: Everchill Peakquartanto.png

Everchill is the tallest mountain in Rixile, with its peak looming above the clouds.  Technically it can be considered the least-visited sanctuary, specifically because the entrance is built into the peak, making it a perilous journey just to get there!  It’s said the depths of the mountain are where the mortal realm and the afterlife blur together, and ghosts can be heard on the climb up.
