College Apollo

Apollo had always wanted to be some sort or politician. As a kid he was usually the one coming up with good ideas and wanting to improve things. In college he majored in both political science and computer science, continuing on with a masters in the former because he saw himself in a career with that focus. He was great with computers and coding so he decided to do the other major just for degree recognition (His computer skills are more of a hobby for him though but he thinks having the degree might be helpful). He met Laurent through one of his beginner comp sci classes and the two became friends fast. Laurent was impressed with Apollo’s knowledge and at one point tried to persuade him to join the engineering dept. (where he was a professor for mid and higher level classes), but Apollo refused. Nevertheless Apollo often met with Laurent in his office in their free time, ending up spending most of his college time there with him.

He met his future girlfriend and wife at college too. Her name was Scarlett Valentino and she was one of Laurent’s students. Apollo first saw her when she had to ask Laurent a question and Apollo couldn’ stop staring at her. She was gorgeous! He discovered she had the three B’s: brains, brawn, and beauty. The first time he spoke to her was at a different time where Laurent was out and Scarlett came by again. They ended up speaking for a while until Laurent came back, but a friendship began there too. Eventually Scarlett and Apollo would end up dating each other and soon marry after they both graduate and find jobs. They’ll have one daughter named Skye.

The Event that Changed him Forever

For a long time, Apollo had liked androids and robots. He was fascinated by them. In this society, humans and androids coexist together as citizens. For him it’s always been this way, but he still gets amazed by how much tech has advanced since the past, where androids weren’t as intelligent as they are now. Many androids and humans are peaceful with each other, but there were still groups of each that resent each other. Sometimes there were protests, other times there were things done at night that were seen by day, sometimes there were fights, spontaneous or planned, sometimes there were full on riots. These weren’t frequent, but were still seen as dangerous.

However there was one time where a riot went out of hand in a bad way for Apollo. A peaceful protest turned riot from the androids quickly got violent. This protesting crowd believed they were still not held to the same standard as humans, because they're more "artificial" than them. It is unsure how things went haywire. Apollo and Scarlett weren’t far from the crowd; they were trying to avoid it while passing by but the crowd moved around them. Apollo was both fascinated and afraid of the rioting androids, but the latter emotion quickly grew when the crowd separated him from his wife.

Suddenly he heard screams from one part of the crowd. When he looked he saw people and few androids (most likely ones against the protest) getting injured. Police with both human and androids fought to control the chaos. The same rioting androids got angrier, calling some of the police androids traitors. Things happened so fast, suddenly there were few bodies of both humans and robots on the floor, dying. The uproar grew more intense.

He looked for a way to escape the crowd and find his wife but then he saw a horrifying sight. A robot pierced through the middle of her. He could only watch helplessly as she fell limp to the floor. He cried out her name and tried to run to her, but with the chaos still strong he couldn't reach her. He felt someone else grab his arm and pull him away. He tried to fight it off but the arm tugged harder until he turned and saw it was Laurent pulling him to take him to a safe location. Once they were far from the crowd, Laurent took him to his own house by car.

Apollo was angry and devastated at what happened to his beloved wife. He couldn't help but throw a tantrum, not caring if he was messing up Laurent's living room. When he tired himself out he dropped on the couch and sobbed. Laurent tried to comfort him but Apollo wouldn’t listen to a thing he said. Apollo then vowed to get revenge on the androids for killing his wife, but Laurent tried to stop this way of thinking. Apollo gets angry at him; he didn't like how it seemed like Laurent was taking the side of the androids instead of his own. He broke off their friendship right then and stormed away from him.

Revenge 1.0

Apollo had a hard time adjusting to life without his beloved wife, but at least he had his daughter to keep him company. In the beginning, he doted on her a lot, but at the same time he was planning and coding things for his revenge.

He decided to visit a couple of the robot and android creation facilities under the guise of wanting a tour of the place, but he was actually observing the layout of the place, where the main control room would be, and if the creations would work under the same system. He managed to get the answer to his curiosities which made his revenge plot much easier. He spent months designing a virus code to infect the robots and androids and make them go wild, then planned to have the 'antidote' to stop them, presenting himself to be a hero to the humans. Then finally comes the day where he would execute his plan.

He visited the facility again under a guise of inspection, and managed to get past security to the control room. There he unloaded his virus onto the system. It was going smoothly at first, but then a malfunction happened; something either got blocked or detected, and the whole security system went on high alert. But something even more unexpected is that the machinery in the room started to self-destruct. Apollo tried to stop the machinery in the room from exploding, but some on the other side of the room already began to spark. He managed to wipe out traces of his presence in the system, making it look like the system malfunctioned on its own. But then the nearest machine to him exploded and part of his body was caught in the blast. He simultaneously felt pain and numbness on his left side and his vision was skewed, but he managed to leave the room before collapsing.

Android Parts

The next thing he saw is white. He woke up in a hospital room, and he noticed his body felt strange. Half his head was bandaged still so he could only see out of one eye. The doctor who worked on him explained what had been happening while he was knocked out. He was knocked out for a couple weeks, and they had to do surgery to remove the part of his left arm that remained after the explosion. Part of his face had also been damaged so they had to fix it as well. Then the doctor mentioned that the team attached a robotic arm prosthetic and a new eye wired in for him. Apollo shrieked in disbelief as he sat up quickly and turned his head to see the metallic arm. Dread filled within him as he saw it and he fainted.

After what felt like a long time, he recovered enough to be released. At home, he didn't do much aside from going to physical therapy to train himself with his new arm. He hated looking at it. He bought a flesh or black colored arm sleeve to cover it up along with gloves to hide it from public view, but it was hard covering the shoulder section; he wore only shirts with sleeves. He felt devastated that his revenge didn't work that day. He contemplated on what went wrong but couldn't figure it out right away. To take his mind off things he decided to get used to work again and this time he decided to start his campaign for mayor.

Mayor Apollo

Apollo focused on his campaign, making it his main goal to win the next election. He was fortunate to find a team who painted him in a good light. He didn’t think much on the revenge plot, but it was always on the back of his mind.

The first election was a success for him and he became mayor. He did a lot of improvements and for this first term he felt that sense of justice from his college days rush back to him. A lot of people favored him and his work. There were still alternative crowds with their protests and riots on other issues but he made sure they were kept more controlled. He did not want a repeat of what he experienced. But, knowing that such protests still exist made him think of his revenge plot constantly. He hated seeing them; he wanted to put a stop to them, a stop to those androids once and for all.
