Profile

Considered a violinist prodigy, Hansen Orzabal was known to the media for being incredibly private and always wearing a sad expression.  His public appearances seemed friendly enough; he enjoyed an enthusiastic audience and had even been seen talking with socialites like Andrea Managuchi, but that's the most anyone could glean.  In reality, he moonlighted as a member of the Terror, apparently invited in by Gabriele Colin, and had a personal mission to find his disappeared older brother Campbell.

Known Backstory:

Hansen was always the more sensitive one between he and his brother, Campbell.  Raised by abusive parents, Campbell often took blows meant for Hansen in order to protect the family he could still trust.  They discovered their Stands together, and while they grew up and escaped their situation together, Hansen felt Campbell drift away from him as they entered adulthood.  Hansen couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as Campbell started appearing more talented and successful than he, even getting himself a girlfriend!  Hansen couldn't escape feeling like he was always in someone's shadow.

One day, both Campbell and his girlfriend disappeared, seemingly erased from everyone's memories as well.  Hansen was griefstricken and pulled into deep obsession as he desperately tried to figure out what in the world happened to them (not unlike Nemo and his own missing person, Josiah).  He tried to keep up appearances through physical training and adopting the violin, just like his brother, and even found success with them.  But this didn't go unnoticed, and rumors soon surfaced that he "bought" his talent somehow, as he became buzzworthy in the classical scene seemingly overnight.  In reality, it was simply his newfound drive to honor his brother while also solving his own mystery.

The above caught the eye of Gabriele, who offered him a spot in the Terror.  It's unknown how exactly he was involved in it.

Posthumously, the party found a notebook on his desk, with a particular page noting a place, date, and time where he apparently saw the use of his disappeared brother's Stand...after his brother had disappeared.  He didn't see Campbell or the Stand itself, but he knew the effects of its ability were unmistakable.  He passed it off as some sort of hallucination, but what could this really mean?

In-Game Timeline (Act 1):

Kathy Petrie had been keeping an eye on Hansen due to the rumors surrounding him, and discovered that Hansen was plotting to murder Anthony Managuchi.  After a dangerous altercation with the main party where Anthony was ultimately saved, Hansen learned that the players knew about Campbell's status as an erased person, which nullified his hostility toward them.  Just when he was about to come around and tell his story, he was dramatically shot in the head and killed instantaneously, by Gabriele's Stand, no less.  It slunk away too quickly for the players to follow, but they at least had a new lead.

The confusion and drama that ensued shook the party to the core.  In Hansen's pockets they found a note with Curtis Morello's signature, warning the recipient that "he" (Anthony?) isn't to be trusted, and that there are "cameras under the lampposts."  How Hansen potentially knew Curtis has yet to be discovered, but it's safe to assume it was the cause of Hansen's righteous anger.  The party then found an entire surveillance system in the city, as well as further suspicion cast upon Anthony...so it seemed Hansen really had been silenced.

Maybe in another world, he and the party could have collaborated.

Ability: 「Paper Tiger

Close-Range, Artificial Humanoid

Paper Tiger is a straightforward, lightning fast Stand, delivering a series of high-speed cuts that can leave a victim wondering what happened. The cuts act similarly to papercuts; PT's swords are chemically treated as paper is, and the cuts are bloodless, leaving the nerve endings stinging and exposed to open air. The result is long-lasting, painful lacerations that are aggravated by movement and potential infection. If PT is attacked, it can separate its origami pieces to dodge blows. Its range is its biggest weakness, as it can't use its strong cutting power if it can't actually find an opening. Thanks to its speed, though, Hansen usually finds himself jumping in, delivering an intense flurry of slices, and jumping out.

It looks like a samurai made out of origami, with two katana. It has a tiger mask.

Other:

  • His design was entirely because there needed to be a sexy dude character showing too much skin.  It's JJBA after all.  Originally the diamonds in his pant-boots were holes too but that made him DISTRACTINGLY naked
  • He was created to be a foil to a player character that is also looking for closure on a personal mystery involving a sibling (Campbell's girlfriend, specifically!).
  • His name references Beck Hansen.  His brother's first name, Campbell, is another reference to Beck (Campbell being Beck's previous family name).  Their family name references Roland Orzabal (「Tears for Fears」 being Campbell's Stand).
  • He's half Spanish and half Japanese.  His hairstyle is meant to evoke a typical anime-flavored samurai.
  • He's kind of a spiritual successor to my older OC Kass, but they're not similar enough that I'd make them tabs of one another.
  • His Stand was designed by Bee.
  • Character art album cover background reference
