Eugenie may appear beautiful, but do not be fooled--on the inside, she is as ugly as they come. Wanton, fickle, and cruel, Eugenie rules her family with an iron fist. Still, she has genuine affection for them, and will destroy anyone who attempts to oppose them. Her unspeakable powers help her to defend them when necessary--but due to her reputation, it is not often necessary! Theme song: Oomph!--Wenn du weinst: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg6tz-2rz7U
Eugenie is a highly successful demon and has been for eons. She never envisioned herself as a family woman, but ended up becoming one after meeting Bosch. Now, Eugenie directs her energy not only towards corrupting mortals, but towards teaching her children to do the same. The entire family is on a hunting expedition currently, and Eugenie could not be more pleased.
Bosch is Eugenie's husband, who she met at a bacchanal millenia ago. For better or for worse, they have stuck together for all that time. Bosch can be sleazy, untrustworthy, and irresponsible, but Eugenie has to admit that he is great with their kids. She will probably keep him around forever.
Hylton is the oldest of Eugenie's three children. He is genuinely friendly, and has no problem with mortals, preferring to party with them than to drag them to Hell. This drives Eugenie to distraction--she cannot understand why Hylton does not fall in line. Though Hylton does what he can to please her, their relationship is often strained.
Annabelle is Eugenie's middle child. Eugenie is deeply disappointed in her--as soon as she was strong enough, brave and kind-hearted Annabelle left her family of origin to join Heaven's army. As a result, Eugenie rarely mentions her older daughter, preferring to forget her existence entirely. Annabelle hopes that her mother will be converted someday, but is committed to keeping as far away from her as possible in the meantime.
Charlene is Eugenie's youngest child. Unlike her brother and sister, Charlene excels at the family's work--perhaps even outdoing Eugenie. Eugenie at times envies Charlene's ability to conceal her true nature. However, she is also genuinely proud of her daughter, and looks forward to seeing her future accomplishments.
Candy is a mortal who had the unhappy fortune to summon Charlene during a love spell gone wrong. Eugenie thus soon made her acquaintance, and was delighted to do so--the naive, friendly Candy is just the sort of prey Eugenie loves. She taunts Candy every chance she gets, and delights in the young woman's fright. For Eugenie, Candy is very fun to play with.
Christopher is Candy's younger half-brother, and has therefore come to make Eugenie's acquaintance. He is brave, fiery, and totally committed to defending his sister, much to Eugenie's chagrin. She and the rest of her family are currently trying to turn Christopher against Candy, but he is standing resolute. This frustrates Eugenie to no end--she wishes that Christopher had a weaker moral compass.
Roslyn is Candy's best friend--she's a spirit with a considerable amount of power at her command, and she does not like demons! Eugenie outwardly laughs at Roslyn, but is a bit concerned about her persistence. Roslyn is lovely to her friends, but is cold, cunning, and ruthless to her enemies. Eugenie is beginning to wonder whether she and her family ought to look for prey somewhere else...
Bart is a medium hired by Candy, who she hopes will exorcise Eugenie and her kin. However, if Candy is looking for a protector, she has chosen poorly--Bart's glibness hides a rotten and selfish character. Eugenie views Bart as ripe for exploitation, and is thus laying her charms on him in an attempt to convince him to hand over both Candy and his own soul. Hopefully Bart is not foolish enough to fall for Eugenie's lies, for Candy's sake and for his own...
Song is an angel who is an old friend of Roslyn's, and thus Roslyn has enlisted them in the fight to save Candy from Eugenie and her family. Eugenie openly despises Song--Song stands for patience, temperance, logic, and kindness, all virtues that send shivers down Eugenie's spine. Eugenie taunts Song, but her barbs hide her fear--she recognizes that Song represents a very real threat to her. Song takes Eugenie's viciousness in stride--they feel confident that the power of light will eventually prevail over Eugenie's forces of darkness.
