Roslyn was the first soul who Candy contacted via Ouija board--she is something like a "switchboard operator" in the afterlife, connecting humans and spirits via the use of mystic tools. Roslyn eventually became Candy's closest friend after many evenings of long talks. Roslyn is sarcastic and cynical, but also motherly, and does her best to give Candy help and advice. She is currently doing her best to keep Candy safe from a family of demons whom she accidentally summoned, and seems to have her hands full!

Christopher is Candy's younger half-brother (they have the same mother). Growing up, Candy was always protective of Christopher, making sure that he did not wander too far off into the unknown. Now that the two are older, Christopher is doing his best to return the favor by guarding Candy against the demons who have set themselves against her. He is brave, loyal, and will stop at nothing to make sure that Candy is safe!

Charlene is a demon who Candy inadvertently summoned during what was supposed to be a love spell. Instead of finding the person of her dreams, Candy got Charlene--a bubbly and perky, but vicious creature. Charlene brought her whole family along with her, too, much to Candy's chagrin. Try as she might to resist it, though, Candy finds Charlene to be oddly appealing, and is of two minds about banishing her back to Hell.

Hylton is Charlene's older brother, who came along for the ride once Candy had summoned Charlene. He is also a demon, although not a very fearsome one--he enjoys the company of mortals and would prefer not to send them to damnation. Hylton genuinely likes Candy, and is a bit jealous that she is so enamored of Charlene. Candy, for her part, is frightened of Hylton, and very much wishes that he would return to whence he came.

Eugenie came into Candy's life on the heels of Charlene and Hylton, as she is their mother. She is even more cunning and lethal than they are, and she does not bother to layer sweetness or charm over her true nature. Eugenie has made it very clear to Candy that she looks forward to dragging her to Hell for the sheer fun of it. As far as Candy is concerned, Eugenie is her worst nightmare, and she can only hope that Roslyn is able to help fend her off.

Bosch became acquainted with Candy after she summoned Charlene--he is Charlene and Bosch's father and Eugenie's husband. Unlike his wife, Bosch at least pretends to be pleasant and appears worldly and charming at first. Make no mistake, however--he is just as bloodthirsty as she is. Candy recognizes his true nature, and this makes her very afraid.

Bart is a medium who Candy has recently formed an alliance with--she found his contact information in the back of a tabloid magazine. Candy is hopeful that Bart's services will make short work of the demons who are currently plaguing her, and Bart assures her that this is the case. What Candy does not yet realize is that Bart's charm hides a sleazy interior, one that likely does not have Candy's best interests at heart. In fact, the demons following Candy are currently baiting Bart into handing Candy over to them, and it remains to be seen whose side Bart is really on...

Song is an angel who Candy's friend Roslyn forged a connection with when she first entered the afterlife, and who has now graciously agreed to help Candy in her quest to rid herself of the family of demons currently stalking her. Candy has been taken aback by this turn of events--she never imagined that she was a good enough person to be aided by a real angel! Due to this insecurity, Candy behaves in a shy and self-effacing manner when she is around Song. She need not worry, though--Song recognizes Candy's benevolent inner self, and is thus quickly becoming her greatest defender.

Annabelle is a friend of Song's, which is how she and Candy were introduced--and she is also Charlene's reformed sister! It is understandable, then, that Candy was initially frightened of Annabelle. However, Annabelle is a truly caring and pure-hearted individual, and she therefore eventually won Candy over. Annabelle is particularly protective of Candy--she has seen the havoc her family can wreak, and does not want that fate to befall Candy.
