Acolyte

The Burning Vessel

Full of bitterness towards Hollownest, this vessel wanted nothing more than to forget their past and leave their painful origins behind. They left Hollownest with The Grimm Troupe seeking this end, leaving their nail behind and learning to dance through nightmares and flames. They were charged with the care of a Grimmchild, however, Acolyte and the Grimmchild grew close, becoming loyal friends. Rather than let their only true family grow up to become the next Nightmare King and continue the cycle of sacrifice, Acolyte and the Grimmchild fled together, abandoning the ritual. This Grimmchild became known instead as Emberkin, and the two travelled the land together, hiding from the Troupe and seeking a new life together. Acolyte is solemn and protective of Emberkin, valuing their companion's life above their own.
